3.5 ABV -- how good can that be?

Focused on a can of Concordance Czech Pils this afternoon. Great balanced mix of herbal hops and doughy malts -- edging to the hops, of course.

Talk about using ingredients in a simple, but effective way.

I had Observer and Observed last night.

I didn’t appreciate the size or the cost, but I absolutely appreciated the taste. Banger!

    13.5 ABV -- guessing it wasn't a pint pour.

Where'd you have it on Christmas night? RT wasn't open.

They bottled it in 750 ml bottles a while back. I think they were $30 or so.

EDIT: I'm guessing @Quilentro popped a bottle, if that wasn't clear.

So, not appreciating the size was more about "too much" all the way around.

I figured it was a small, snifter-like pour at a crazy bar price.

Didn't look at it the last time I was in RT, so I don't know what they're charging.

The local Binny's just got the Warbler and since it's so low in ABV, I'm treating myself to a first taste (pre-review).

RT always surprises me with characters in their beers. I was having some trouble with the roasted malts being a little too sharp -- even bitter and astringent -- maybe expecting more malt sweetness. But right there in the BJCP guidelines for Dark Mild is something that never stuck in my head previously:
The same thing happened to me when I tried their ESB for the first time. Here I was expecting Fullers, but only Fullers has the Fullers character -- all other ESBs tend to be less sweet and complex in their malt characters... just as RT's tasted.

This beer should score well in my review -- I hope to get to try it from the cask before it's gone.

According to the database here, Roaring Table has never brewed a Baltic Porter.

I'd LOVE to try their take on the style...

I'd definitely get behind that, although I think they're still fine-tuning their stouts. Some rough edges there from what I've had. If you're craving that sort of thing though, Goldfinger has a killer Baltic that's out right now.

I'll happily settle for RTB Dunkel right now though, it's the first RT beer I've had a couple of years ago and it's the one that got me hooked on their lagers! Got a few RT cans I'm stoked to try tonight.

Who else is really diggin' Concordance? The Saaz hops in concert with the grainy malts is dialed in to Czech perfection. Sort of a cross between Urquell and Budvar -- maybe right there with Golden Pheasant.
