Postimage spam/link issues

As it turns out, I was only removing some of the problem characters. Unknowingly, it seems I was part of the problem.

So my apologies to @Todd and everyone else.

It is very helpful to see an example of the problem along with a sample of the correction.

 

If society can load direct why not all? Posting photos helps grow this site. Make it a cost to do and good luck staying relevant. More I think about it the more I feel Untappd was a desperation move and BA still is hanging on a thread. Did Jason leave all together? Where is this influx of Untappd $ to update and keep this place going?

For people using postimages.org, I've never had an issue with add on links when using the "direct link" feature and pasting it into the BA image tab.

In my post #47 I kind of encouraged Imgur users to try using the BBCode link. That sounds like the same thing that is a problem in these other two online services. Has Imgur also been a spam problem so that its BBCode should be discouraged or used cautiously?

Just to chime in, I use Imgur and a couple people there saw my posts and a few trades resulted.
I got to try some Jackie O’s Double Barrel as a result, which was almost a life changing experience.
You don’t have to, but if you join as a member for $5 a month you won’t get any ads.
Then again, if all you are doing there is posting beer pics to post here, ads won’t be an issue. I was using it to stay current with what was going on in Ukraine, but it wasn’t current enough, so I likely wouldn’t re up.

Todd: i always found the bank-shot process for posting images awkward at best, but as someone in the IT world, I totally get not having to pay to store images, especially if you're still running your own iron. Also, you have a huge number of links from BA to third party apps of sometimes dodgy repute.

Speaking strictly for myself, I'd cheerfully pay 25% or more as a Society member to post images directly from my phone or tablet into a forum post. Faster, more secure. After all, a Society membership runs less than a typical visit to my local beer store.
