4000, 5000, and 6000 all seemed to have come out the end of March each of the past three years, so I assuming Fremont is still on the same schedule as the past three years it'll be around then.

I'll get the new Visiting Seattle thread up shortly. Just an FYI.

Noticed that Chuckanut is releasing a Barleywine. Has anyone had their BA Imperial Stout? I recognize their lager greatness, but as someone who has far more cravings for big beers than Pilsners, these winter releases are far more interesting to me.

I've had the ba impy stout. I reviewed it if you want to read over my impression. It's not Fremont caliber IMHO, but nevertheless was still a pretty decent ba impy stout I thought. They did bottle it, but it's pretty limited. They also had the BW on tap as well so I tried it. Good BW I thought, with a reasonable (not over the top) amount of alcohol and sweetness. It's the sort of BW that you feel as if you could actually drink a couple glasses without completely wrecking yourself.

I was curious about it, but at $28/500ml bottle, it was a hard pass for me.

I'm surprised to hear that. When I asked the bartender about the price, he seemed to think it would be under $20 for a 500 ML bottle.

It's a good beer, but $28 for a 500 ML bottle is outrageous. It's not THAT good a ba IRS.

Who do they think they are? Modern Times?

One store here in Bellingham (Terry's favorite bottle shop) was selling it for $32.

Wow, I have so many questions about how they arrived at that price point. Now wondering where the (non-BA) Barleywine will land.

Just throwing out there that FG Matryoshka is $12 and Gigantic Most Most Premium is $10, both also bourbon barrel aged RIS in 500ml bottles. Is Crux Tough Love considered a RIS? That’s $15/500ml.

That's even more surprising. I was under the impression it would be a brewery only release and wouldn't see distribution.

Sounds like I was given a lot of inaccurate information.

Relying on my oft-faulty memory, I seem to remember that they've made a couple over the years. I haven't tried the new one, but did get to sample the barleywine they did with North Fork. I enjoyed it muchly.

The Masonry is closing their Fremont location at the end of the month. Very sad to hear that. They had great food, great beer selection, and a great location.

Really? It wasn't even open that long, was it?

I guess based on that post, it was five years...but three of those years don't count because covid, I guess

Russian River is apparently coming back to WA in a couple weeks. Never thought I’d see that happen, but their product does sit on shelves in California a lot longer than it used to.
