In the past few months both of my thrift store finds, a Warsteiner Pilsner glass and La Fin Du Monde mini goblet have been broken due to my carelessness. Basically if I come across a glass in a thrift store what would you suggest I pick up as replacements.
You can't be too choosy when shopping thrift stores for logo glassware. I'd go for the glass styles that you just broke since you like them. A snifter/snulip/tulip is always a good style to have, and they are versatile. I use that style for all stouts, sours/wild ales, and double IPAs.
I bought a case of tulips from https://www.webstaurantstore.com/3685/beer-glasses.html No big deal if you break em because it ends up being a few dollars each and it’s nice to have extra when friends come over
Well... I almost want to say this thread should be sub-titled "Beggars CAN be choosers" (hey, no offense - people have said it to me ) but I've got at least 6 beer cases of branded beer glasses, 90% purchased at thrift stores, flea markets or garage sales for a buck or so, so I'm not that discriminating about what I buy as far as which would want to drink out of. But I do know that you're really at the mercy of what you can find at such establishments (Finds beer glass - thinks "Gee, no wonder why this monstrosity wound up in the 'donate' box...") so if you need a glass buy one you like and will feel comfortable in your hand. (Me - I hate stemmed glasses but the geekery doesn't agree). Chances are it'll cost you less than a pack of gum these days and you can always buy something different the next trip since what you paid is likely a mere fraction of the cost of the beer you'll consume from it. But, your avatar brings to mind the infamous "test market" labels of the then-Philip Morris-owned Miller Brewing Co. of a beer that never saw standard distribution.
I'm a simple man: if I'm in a thrift store and a glass is either a style that I don't have or has a cool/vintage logo or vibe... I'm getting it. My wife loves the amount of cabinet space my beer glasses take up
