    Good day BAs! It's 36 F (2 C) and cloudy - yesterday was foggy and damp but warm (relatively) all day with the sun showing up about sunset. Up earlier than usual, no doubt because my subconscious knew what today's New Breakfast Beer would be:

    This is kind of like drinking strong coffee with a shot or three of absolute added (And I generally love coffee stouts!). Rating 3.9, rDev -8.9%

    (Hummm. Seems a bit out of focus, which reminds me of an old joke...)

    Good Day BAs and thanks @Ozzylizard for today’s opening of the VB. Much warmer 58° walk with dogs earlier…we are back to normal weather-wise here…dogs fed, kitchen cleaned, laundry going, so it must be coffee time - KBS:

    Another cup of Joe as I ease into the day - FBS:

    Bottled 12/2/22. Poured at 56° straight out of the chiller/“cellar”. Roast coffee nose/taste is strong, especially this fresh. I like!

    Way back we took the ferry from Harwich, England to the Hook of Holland. We disembarked to a train bound for nearby Amsterdam. That station is very familiar. We got a room nearby and rented bicycles to learn the city. Vondelpark in 1970 was the center of Afghani herbal exports and we checked it out. I remember a crazy place called The Paradisio and the small "shop" windows with beautiful women on display and the pervading smell of the massive Heineken Brewery right in town. It smelled like fresh bread and it made us very thirsty. The Heineken tour was fantastic, the best ever, and was full of young world travelers having the time of their lives. Even the Aussie guy who puked. They fed us and gave us unlimited beer. Amsterdam in those days was surely as close to heaven as possible. Later on Yugoslavia was eye-opening and so very memorable and not only because we were deported. The rest of the story another time..... I found a great Chimay chalice at Goodwill yesterday for 99 cents.
