Good day BAs! Off to a start with a dusting of snow overnight following yesterday evening's thunderstorm. It's a nice, even 32 F (0 C) and cloudy. Today's New Breakfast Beer from the BA Extreme Stout Box 2022:



Kind of like Founders Maple Mackinac Fudge without the maple, but also lacking the advertised coconut.

Remembering David Crosby



Back in the day at Ft. McClellan my buddy Ray used to play this every time he ran the projector at the base theater - good times long gone.

Man, so sad to hear of David Crosby's passing Thursday, and now Meatloaf passed today....both were great musical inspirations for me as I was growing up - along with Jeff Beck, who passed last week!!

Will be spinning some vinyl this weekend, in memory of these artists!

this is my today beer.
It is an archaic German style, I have entered it in the database under the heading "Smocked Beers", in reality it is something other than mere "smocked".

Birrificio WAR (Milano, ITA) + Birrificio Italiano (Como, ITA) - TURBE TORBATE - Lichtenhainer (4%)

Collaboration between a young Brewery (WAR) and a progenitor (Birrificio Italiano, that of Tipo Pils, the best-known craft beer in the world and recognized as a supreme example of Italian Pils).
On the nose, a clear smoky note (from Rauch).
Poured it is very clear, a very pale yellow and completely transparent.
Non-existent foam.
In the mouth, immediately astringent and salty note after which here is the light smoky taste (used peated malt) and on the finish a cereal aftertaste (typical of wheat).
The body is incredibly light, flowing smooth and fast.
Minimum carbonation.
All very simple and fast, but the typical characteristics of this historic style are found in the taste.
An undemanding but absolutely non-trivial drink.
The path that starts with a strong saline impact and dissolves in a softer smoky taste (rather than peaty) is very particular.
Perfect to accompany with rustic food as an aperitif.

Hello friends! I say hello to all y'all more than some close family members so I guess, BeerAdvocates...YOU'RE IN!! Thanks @DoctorZombies for 3744. My sister lives in FL over by Cape Canaveral but she's never aware of my "Beer Launching schedule". Break time w my helper here btwx driveways. Mine is a challenge, the neighbors' "runway" not so much and is worthy of this can of Spiral Mind The Gap ESB. Mega tasty with a light suggestion of cocoa. Fairly dry in the finish as well.
<>Drummed for a few hrs last night and scored some more SN Celebration Ale along w some other cool drops. I'm walking right past too many SBDL DIPAs from a few local brewers. Id be tickled to see some more rye beers. Well, as usual, thru thick & thin, it's great to be here and I feel lucky to have virtual beers with peeps I've never met in person and I can only imagine the rippin' good times we'd have on the same floor. Some day soon! Cheers!
