    They discontinued those?

    The BA Sumatra Underground Mountain was one of the best brown ales i had( cuz of the high abv of course)

    I think so, haven't seen them in couple years. Not a lot of straight forward, high ABV coffee beers to be found these days unfortunately

    I bought one to compare against a Captain Lawrence chocolate Cherry nonBA stout. I’m not expecting high praise either way, but they were both there, looking like a natural side-by-side.

    Hopefully this isn't another baker's chocolate+cherry NyQuil flavored stout, as other brewers have done.

    I won't lie...I will buy a 4 pack of this once it arrives in my area...if I don't like it, my wife will and Valentines Day is just around the corner so....

    KBS- a HoF beer, nearly perfect as is, a true legend

    Every KBS variant ever- completely unnecessary and never worth revisiting (or probably even trying in the first place)


    Admittedly, i have not tried this one yet but I’d bet my house it’s not an outlier.

    It's getting good reviews and drinkers are saying that the cherry plays more of a background note, which sounds on par with the variants as of late.

    Yeah, and considering CBS is the #31 overall highest rated beer on the site, while MMF and Espresso are respectively rated #64 and #176 in the American Imperial Stout category, it seems like the vast majority would disagree that none of the KBS variants are worthwhile or worth revisiting.

    I'm certainly happy that Founders iterated on KBS and will presumably continue to do so into the future (hopefully not at the expense of removing the best variants from their lineup).

    I had a bottle over the weekend. Very nice addition to the KBS family. Cherry is definitely a background note more than an 'in your face cherry bomb'. The chocolate is there, playing well with the coffee. Creamy and great mouthfeel. MMF is still my favorite variant but this is definitely worth a shot if you like subtle cherry in your BA Coffee / Chocolate stout.
