Enjoying this Stillwater Business, an imperial stout brewed with molasses and muscovado. This might be the closer.

That said, I hope all is well with you my friend. Me. I had my fill of beer for the night and am working on a bottle of wine.

 

I think I don’t appreciate this Southern Tier Peanut Butter Cup imp stout, so I won’t cross-post. When the Black Water series first came out, they were all beasts. Now, there is a standard metallic-trying-to-be-diacetyl flavor to the base stout. It brings my palate to near cloying / drain pour levels.

It’s not totally terrible, but the natural flavors instead of actual adjuncts hurts the experience, IMO. I know they’re mainstream and mass production focused now, so that’s business.

That all said, taking a bite of actual peanut butter with a swig mellows out the twangy notes.

If I had to pick a high production PB stout (that I can get here) I think I’d go with Left Hand. Yellow Belly is still top 2 (no access), along with Thin Man Peanut Butter Jenkins (only some magnums floating around locally).
