    TL;DR: DBVSOJ is awesome.

After two weeks, I'm finally over this God-forsaken cold! I've had DBVSOJ and Boss Ryeway sitting in the fridge since Thursday (as well as bunch of Tree House DIPAs I picked up while on a work trip a week or so ago which I haven't had yet) all there, laughing at me,.... starring at me.... laughing at me.

First beer I opened after getting better: DBVSOJ. Just like my review: beautiful beer, as if it was made for me. Deep, deep amber-brown appearance with foam quickly dissipating upon aggressive pour. You would think it wasn't clear until you put it up to a bright light and see that the color is just obstructing most of the light in a natural setting. Caramel, toffee, and barrel, malty sweetness are quite prominent in both aroma and flavor. For some this may be a tad on the sweeter side, I can see that, but this is double barrel aged so I expected it... welcomed it! The rye presence is awesome, and very nice for those who love rye whiskey such as myself. For me, it's just huge depth of flavor that goes on and on. Mouthfeel is ... I don't know, creamy thick and oily slick? None of that is bad, it's excellent, as it's not something I come across in a beer very often.

Overall, this may be a tad sweet for some but for me it's near the 'tip of the spear' for the bareywine style. It is not like your old school Bourbon County Brand Barlewines ('13 and '14) or like Anabasis line. Those are more 'stouty-like' barleywines which are excellent in their own right. This feels in a separate category for the style, but every bit as good.

There's a Disney themed craft fair in the taproom today. All variants are gone. Mean and Bean are flowing. DBVSOJ and Boss are still going though.

DBVSOJ is really good. I can see how it might be too sweet for some, but I really liked it. Definitely lots of kids around today. I’m parking myself in front of the Bills-Bengals game and enjoying my Repo Man pour.

Side Project Continuance B2 was a cinnamon vanilla barleywine and hearing that for the first time set off alarm bells in my head but it was delicious. So it can be done well but there are only a few breweries I would trust to pull it off.

Yea, Continuance was the one I was thinking of. Never had it, but everyone loved it. Like you said, there are few that I'd trust to do it. (I mean, OK, if it's $10 for a can or something, I'd try it if the brewery had a good track record. But if it's a $35-50 bottle? It better be one of those chosen few like SP.)

    No crowlers.

also, they’re planning on bringing back the season pass next year.

I wonder if they'll expand the VIP program. I know a few people that missed it the first time around that would jump on it if given the opportunity. I also have to imagine the demand will be higher since they allow proxies.

I could see them putting a cap on the number of Season Tickets they allow people to buy. The unlimited aspect of it always seemed strange to me. Would be one way to spread it around more if they are so inclined.

Just to be clear, there isn't really a "VIP Program" any more. The season ticket program will be offered again in 2023, and folks that purchased season tickets in 2022 will get first dibs, but it was originally offered in an email to anyone on their email list and all Rev Rewards members.

Assuming a season ticket is at least the $360 it was this year, I'm sure the price alone is enough to keep folks from purchasing multiples, and there are always a few beers that are not as popular as others that some folks don't want to be forced to purchase. But I agree it should be limited to three per person if they allow proxies, because that can get out of hand FAST!

It's a fine line that a brewery has to walk: the need to sell all the beer they produce at price where it all sells out, while trying to spread it around to as many folks as possible, and not alienating the loyal locals that have been with them for years. (since some can be quite vocal, as they were last week .)
