It's worth whatever somebody is willing to swap for it. I wouldn't trade much at all, but to each their own...

Such a good spring break. 4th grade was getting kinda stressful and it felt so good to blow off some steam. I drank so many juice boxes and held hands with like 5 different girls

No disrespect is meant here, honestly. I suppose I've had enough of being lumped into the BAs my age that trade like it's a competition...

Sure thing, telling me I'm being silly, telling me not to start with...., yep that WAS being very respectful. Thanks much.

I couldn't agree more. There are certainly a few one-offs that are new that should be trading high. Besides, isn't Blabaer always the most common unmatched bottle in the Unwanted Whales BIF's?

I really think a lot of the older BA's have a vested interest in protecting the value of their cellars, and somehow feel that an excellent beer made two weeks ago is somehow inferior to the excellent beer in their cellar made two years ago. This is beer, not comic books or baseball cards!

Heck, if I had a Blabaer I'd trade for a Mimosa or 2xJuicy in an instant.

Age has NOTHING to do with it!! Beer is the new futures game with one toy quickly being replaced by the next new shiny toy. People who bought five or seven growlers of Rarer expecting to get Ann, Kaggen, BlAbaer, etc. better cover their positions quickly because the next new shiny toy is certain to steal its thunder and is right around the corner. God forbid, they might actually have to srink them. Age has NOTHING to do with it.

Mongo man is saying exactly what I feel. We all have gotten caught up into this at one time or another and I once went to Bullfrog just to try to get some bitchin trade ammo back in the day when Bullfrog was a shining star. I'll plead guilty to that and am not proud of it. But it is beyond amazing now. I am so thankful that I have a bevy of great trading partners where the value proposition is largely removed. It's simply sharing beers. Age has nothing to do with it. I personally feel sorry for recent joiners. With the speculative nature of beer now, your chance of getting some of the limited beers is much tougher unless you have something like Rarer or say SNR 2010 to return. Sure, you will still find some amazing BA'ers willing to share, but good luck there. Five years ago, it was much easier. It has nothing to do with age, it is just the mentality here.

    seriously.

There are what? 240 bottles of Blabaer (maybe another 240 little ones) released every year in a remote country (Denmark), where there aren't that many traders?

Thanks Hoppy99. I think I will drink a RareR Dos today. You and MM are right, beer is meant to be drank first and foremost.

    Merry X-Mas All,

I believe it was 200 bottles to-go last year of the 750ml's, of which you had the option of buying a 375ml along with it. Once all the 750's were gone sales of to-go bottles ended, so 200 big bottles and less than or equal to 200 small bottles left the pub.

I'm trying hard to stay out of the 'newbs are wrecking' ideas....Part of the problem (IMHO) is partly because of the popularity of good beer. The players in the game continue to grow. Where there once were 100s, now there are 1000s of craft beer lovers(just making these numbers up for conversation). So a 100 bottle release was easier to just pass through the community say 5-6 years....now that same release is wanted by 10x more BAs. It just becomes more difficult to just pass the love around....Also, from being a newb (as we all are at some point)...it can be exciting to land your first 'big' bottle. I thought when I got my first DL, I finally 'arrived' in the BA community. This can be driven, not by an overwhelming greed on the part of a newbie...just a lack of trading 'values' which oddly enough the 'old guard' is the ones that put such a huge stress on 'value'...which is what is part of the problem.

I'm not condemning anyone, but I just want to point out that some people are tough to trade with because they do want to win, or nitpick down to the last few pennies on a $4$, BUT, they are far more people that are truly generous and willing to help out...especially repeat trades. I know sometimes I'm a little skeptical with someone I've never traded with, but I've developed some ridiculously awesome partners friends. Anyway, I'm not even drunk, and I went on a drunken ramble....Merry Christmas! Trade fair and trade often!

I will only say this to those who are thinking about trading RareR DOS: the chances of the beer you are trading for being better than RareR DOS is about 5% if not lower. That beer is one of the best beers I have had if not the best, a view shared by more than a few BA's from my tasting group. I'm not the sage that Mordor and cbeer are on this forum but I've been around the block a few times and have gotten to the point where I know what I like and what was mediocre. Base your beer enjoyment on taste. Get excited about buying growlers and cases of that local beer that tastes so good. Share your walez with others and enjoy the same. Remember the golden rule.

And drink and share your RareR DOS, that shit is amazing! Happy holidays to all!

43.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot. Or was that 47.3? Well, you get the point.
