    LOL

One has an extreme amount of vanilla and one doesn't. That's a terrible example of two things that are exactly the same with one being aged 20% longer.

When did the corkage fee/option to open outside bottles become a thing at the cellar? Never noticed it before.

I didn't know they charged for that. I saw someone bring a couple of Southern Grist bottles to the cellar on Saturday and I don't think they were charged for it

I tried to attach a picture but I’m dumb and it didn’t work. If you go to SPs websites and the cellar portion and look at the cellar section, the first note says:
*$10 Corkage Fee for outside bottles -

100% of this fee benefits our quarterly non-profit organization!

It’s the first time I’ve seen that and never seen it discussed here. I can say that back when I first joined BA I would see people talk about how people would go to SP and being outside bottles for essentially mini shares (impromptu shares, let’s say). A lot of times these were Perennial BA beers, but not always. At some point that seemed to stop (or at least people stopped mentioning it), but also I seem to recall at some point it being discussed that SP asked people to stop bringing in bottles for sharing like that. Not sure when that occurred or if there was any event surrounding that change.

Hopefully someone like @Heisenbrew that was both active on here and around at SP back then can chime in and confirm this, or correct me if my memory is a bit hazy.

Parallels looking to drop soon at sp, wonder if it will be put in a package.

Man I wish they put it in cans, would have followed perfectly with the parfait line

I don’t think it’s ever been “allowed” per se but if it was a slow night or something, sure.

Definitely the first time I’ve seen a corkage fee listed.

are we thinking the corkage fee started a little while back (or shortly after) following the cellar thursdays where CK would open vintage bottles and thus maybe inspired others to bring their vintage bottles to share?

I've brought bottles to share on Cellar Thursdays and have never been charged for it but who knows. Maybe it has become more of a thing lately and they are tired of people sitting there drinking shit they brought in instead of buying something there lol

The corkage fee is new, as of the last few weeks. From my understanding it will not apply to Cellar Thursdays if that continues as long as Cory is there.

The sharing has definitely increased at the cellar as of late and besides the Thursdays with Cory it was never part of their plan. Nice that the proceeds are going to charity though.

I forgot he posted that last thread, you’re right. I only recalled the comment on IG about brewing Orviamo back when Scribe b2 dropped
