Wild Leap Brew Co. (LaGrange, GA) opened their brand new taproom in Atlanta back in late December. The location is a multi-level 15,340 square foot space at the Centennial Yards development downtown. Sweetwater Brewing Co. introduces new year round pilsner - Sweetwater Lager. This is a 4.5% ABV golden lager made from 100% pilsner malt and Crystal and Hallertau hops. It will be available on draft and in 12 packs of 12 oz. cans.

Great call on that series! I'm amazed how they have been able to churn so many of them out yet keep them well crafted and interesting.

 

PorchDrinking.com staff tabs Monday Night Brewing (Atlanta) Prague Fog Czech Dark Lager one of January's Best Beers. Available in draft AND cask. It's great to see drinkable styles like Czech Dark Lager getting some love.

Creature Comforts Brewing (Athens, GA) Duende is back. Duende is an 8% ABV Double IPA featuring Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops. This is a popular seasonal DIPA rated 97 (World Class) by BA users.

New Smoked Beer from Good Word Brewing in Duluth, GA. A Noble Fire is an Export Helles (5.3% ABV) developed in collaboration with Fox Farm Brewery of CT. If you compare it to Aecht Schlenkerla smoked Helles, it has a much more mild smoke flavor & aroma; which allows the base beer to be more prominent. Yet, you will still appreciate the smoked malt character. A very well crafted beer from two respected breweries. A Noble Fire is available only direct at the brewery in 4 packs of 16 oz cans and on draft.

 

New Realm Brewing (Atlanta) has launched a new IPA - Psychedelic Rabbit (6.5%).

This new IPA features Cashmere, Mosaic, Azacca and Citra hops. It also features a new yeast from Omega Yeast called Star Party - a variant of their Chico strain. According to Omega Yeast, it is best used in West Coast IPA's.

Reformation Brewery (Woodstock, GA) has released a seasonal Double IPA February 10th. Reformation Double IPA (8.2% ABV) is made with Mosaic and El Dorado hops.

Thanks to @ZlaVydra for reminding me of The Globe bar/restaurant in Athens, GA. A great place for some classic draft beers and cocktails. Checked out their current draft list and what a strong one it is:

Old Rasputin, Delirium, Chimay, Paulaner, Reissorf, Fuller's ESB & London Pride, and Weihenstephaner are just few on draft there. Athens, GA is a great day trip from the Atlanta area.

Creature Comforts Brewing drops a new year-round beer. Bigger Dreams Hazy IPA 6.8% ABV. The brewery describes the beer as a tweener - combo of the low bitterness and aromatics of a NEIPA and the drinkability of a West Coast IPA.
