Apparently they are ditching the funny ads and going serious this year. Seems like a dumb idea to me, but it's not like either way was going to spur me to buy any Bud Light. But I have always loved their "Real Men of Genius" radio commercials. https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/bud-light-super-bowl-commercials-alissa-heinerscheid-1235510169/
As much as I despise AB, I give them props for their ad campaigns featuring horses and dogs. They should stick with these instead of going for "sophistication," which I will NEVER associate with Bud Light. It's like a bad joke that just writes itself. Edit: "Dilly, dilly!"
As long as they aren't going super politically correct or whatever you want to call it. Maybe it says something about me, but I'm almost longing for the days of Dilly Dilly or Whazzzzup.
When I see something like this, I always wonder what prompted such a drastic change. Is AB unhappy with their current consumer demographic? If so, is there some other beer consuming demographic they're hoping to tap into? If that's the case, what distinctive features does that new demographic have that the current one doesn't have? (is it larger? More affluent? More trendy?). Like the OP, this idea strikes me as pretty dumb and unlikely to impact sales in any meaningful way. It's not going to affect me one way or another, but it's hard to imagine any set of circumstances where this is going to benefit AB. At this point, I think consumers' impressions of bud light are pretty entrenched.
I don't know if you read the whole article, but they offered this: Seems they think what attracted the Boomers, Gen X, and Millennials isn't working on Gen Z.
Thanks. You're right, I didn't. So it sounds like it's option number three. They're hoping to make bud light more trendy. Good luck with that AB.
we made a drinking game out of that. We would go around in a circle saying bud, wise or er. The goal was not to say Budweiser. You would be surprised how often Budweiser was said. Obviously you can’t play the game sober.
There should only be three categories of Budweiser or Bud Light “Big Game” commercials each year. Dogs & Clydesdales - Budweiser America(ns)- Budweiser or Bud Light Humor - Bud Light
I seriously just wanna see a monkey in an ad... I miss the Yeknom monkeys. And bring back Ali Landry to get a dorito fired at her.
Better you should thank the refs for calling a fair game. (Personally, I'm hoping for yet another NFL officiating clown show.)
