    Why do you feel this way? The Karma system changes every few years and it shouldn't affect your enjoyment of the site and community. This site is all about comraderie. If you spend some time time here and participate in the forums and review beers, then the Karma will come. This site's about having fun with like-minded folks who drink beer. Karma comes - and Karma goes. I honestly don't pay much attention to it.

    I’d like to suggest that under the new system, anyone who rates Rolling Rock higher than a 1.75 have their total karma points reduced to -10 and be conferred the rank of ‘Poo.”

    Well this former POO-Bah used to enjoy a Rolling Rock once in a while...I have it rated at 2.25. Rating of 1.75 is reserved for Corona Light and Colt 45. :sunglasses:

    Ummm.... maybe I'm the one who's missing something here, but I took this as an attempt at sarcasm. Especially from someone who last posted in 2015 (and so apparently has been rather disengaged from the site for quite some time).

    Nearly every single major update (more or less) that I've made has resulted in someone stating that they're done with the site (but they usually end up staying). They've also rated 2,580 beers since 2015 and as recently as today, so they've been very engaged with the site. Just not in the forums, until today.

    For the record, I'm a 'former' Poobah as well. Imo it's all about keeping a sense of humor about things. Well, enjoying the site with a beer in hand certainly too. :beers:

    Todd, will showing the Karma points be optional? I noticed well-rounded BAs with (0), they appear to be the ones who have restricted viewing the full profile. If so, it would be good to leave out also the (0), imo.

    Nope. Those with zero points haven't logged in since the update. But once they log in, their points should be applied by the system within an hour or less.

    I'm glad you're enjoying the site and keeping your sense of humor. I'm also a "former Poo-Bah" and none of us knows where we'll end up as a result of this change. You've been a member longer than I and we've both seen this change in points multiple times. My observation is that it's not a big deal and it works out fine for those who participate regularly. There's much too much angst out there.
