Good day BAs! Thanks to @beer_beer for starting today's thread! Yes, we do wait for the light - yesterday was sunny and Phil saw his shadow, so six more weeks of winter! THIS winter is easy to handle for six more weeks - time to start planning my garden!
Today's New Breakfast Beer:



At nearly two years old, still quite refreshing! The prickly pear comes through better than in any other PP-based beer I've had, actually better than in fresh fruits - I think the salt enhances the flavor! Rating 3.94, rDev + 0.5%!

 

12% Barrel Aged old school imperial stout. Very tasty sipper.

 

Good morning/afternoon BAs! A cellar pull this chilly am - Founders’ Maple BA Frangelic Brown Ale, taproom only release, Mothership Series:



Purchased at Founders’ brewpub, Grand Rapids, July ‘21. Poured at 48° straight out of my basement cellar. Bottled 1/21/21. Pours brown with ruby hues, good clarity; khaki head; very good cap retention; heavy ring and soapy lacing; no legs on swirl. Sweet malty maple nose. Caramel, maple sugar at first; oak and roasted nuts as beer warms. Medium body, moderate minus carbonation; no warmth from 11% abv; silky feel with a touch of dryness on finish. Overall, an awesome BA brown ale; no oxidation detected; nutty, caramel, barrel vibe with mild maple sweetness; beer aged fine in cellar for 1 1/2 years.

4.5 | 4.0 | 4.75 | 4.25 | 4.5
My score turns out to be almost exactly the same as in in July ‘21…my aroma then was 4.25.

Sunny and 18° now, but we should warm up a bit this afternoon. I’ve got a full day of minor home repairs and beer drinking ahead of me. Cheers, and stay warm brothers and sisters of the Now!

Bottled 4/22/21. Poured at 48° straight out of my basement cellar which is under ground (ambient air temp = 52°). Not getting any green peppers like I did with the previous same date bottle Quite good!

Beautiful cold morning, sunny with long streaks of white clouds…so different than Florida…looking forward to flying back to St. Pete where it is warm! Cheers from South Charleston WV y’all!

Göller Dunkel by Brauerei Göller 5.2% ABV. New beer for me.
Good grief! Where has this beer been all my life? I tried to be really picky with the review but what do you do when you can't find anything to knit pick in a style. This is OUTSTANDING! It leaves me wondering why Dunkel is not a staple, prized style at most breweries?????
