You’d likely be curious to try this beer, released on Friday. It’s a Czech style Pilsner that was conditioned in Urquel made pitch lined barrels. Godspeed is the first outside brewery to receive and use Urquel made pitch lined barrels. Cheers!

    From the link:

“For this special occasion, we'll also be releasing a limited number of mixed packs containing Sklepník v. Oceli (a version fully fermented and cold conditioned in stainless) along with our newly minted pitch-lined Sklepník.”

That would make for an excellent side-by-side tasting.

    Na Zdravi

Most traditional porters but I came here to specifically say Smuttynose Robust and Baltic Porter. Both are highly rated from the past but sales went down and its a damn challenge to find their robust porter now while the Baltic isn't made anymore that I know of. That's a huge loss for the beer world

When I'm in Mexico, I skip Corona and drink Victoria. It is my guilty pleasure. 4ABV Vienna-ish lager... I love it.

I am a fan of the Porters from Founders, Bells, Deschutes and Great Lakes but I must confess that I do not 'properly' support them and instead drinking my homebrewed Porters.

Hopefully other BAs are robustly (pun intended) buying those beers.

    Cheers!

I'm finally seeing Spellbound's Palo Santo Porter up in Northern NJ. The last time I was in south NJ was 2019, when my son graduated, so it's been a while .

If anything, it's gotten even better than I remembered. Needless to say, it'll be a regular for me from now on.

Founders is pretty solid too. Leans more stout-ish to me than robust but very good

Such a lovely beer, I agree with you. Sent it to several other fellow BAers too.

Great Lakes brewing core beers are also massively under appreciated. Dortmunder gold, burning river, Edmund Fitzgerald... these are beers that taste like beers. True to style, simple, and consistent but likely too ubiquitous to get the hype they deserve.

Victory Dirt Wolf. They don’t seem to distribute this beer in my part of Central MD anymore but if I’m in PA, most places have it and I’ll pick some up. Tastes quite solid.

I'd like to try Lord Chesterfield. It used to make it to the market years ago but according to their beer finder it is nowhere to be found around here.

I have read similar posts from other BAs. It would seem that Lord Chesterfield has a limited distribution area. Yuengling seems to prefer to more widely distribute their flagship beer (Traditional Lager) and the 'newer' stuff like Flight.

In the not too distant past Lord Chesterfield had the appearance of an old, heritage type beer:

More recently (a couple of years ago?), Yuengling has done a rebranding via "Chetty":

Will this new naming/branding me viewed by younger beer drinkers as being cool and worthy of a purchase? Will renewed enthusiasm result in broader distribution?

    Cheers!

I haven't seen Lord Chesterfield anywhere around me since 2011 I think : ( . You'd think they'd distribute it where I live, Chesterfield County

Yeah! What the heck are those Yuengling folks thinking here!?!

    Cheers!

P.S. I would be willing to bet that you can purchase those Flight beers though. :flushed:

I grabbed a bottle of Eliot Ness a bit ago. It might have even been an old bottle. Great Lakes is rarely available in my area. That beer tasted like a blast from an undervalued past. It was a joy to drink.
