Late night/early morning calls for Rauchbier, right? Enjoying this Aecht Schlenkerla Eiche… which I guess they still brew in Germany, but now bring over in vats to can in Connecticut? Very interesting, and quite delicious smoked dopplebock.

    Cheers to you all!

I didn't realize they did this with Schlenkerla beers, but overall it's a fairly common practice, with Tipopils and Lemke Berlin beers being examples.

Good day BAs! Thanks @cambabeer for starting us off today! Yeah, Heller-Trum's been doing this for some time, but at least the 16.9 oz bottles from the brewery now have an outdate printed on them - I don't know about the bottled vat beers.

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Disappointing. Little flavor, thin, and slightly sour (Not hop bitterness, sourness!) Under direct light, the snifter full is a beautiful honey amber, the high point of the brew. Rating 3.03, rDev - 27.3%.

@cambabeer wait they're canning Aecht Schlenkerla in CT??? Hell yes! I foresee a lot more of it in my future.

Good morning, BAs! I'm going to spend the rest of my day recovering from a medical procedure. No drugs, though, so I'm free to self-medicate - starting now.

Thanks for posting this. I came across the same bottle last night, and thought about picking up 1-2 to share. I will go a different direction. I haven’t had the same wow factor many have for Thomas Hardy’s, more so because the style of beer.

I was supposed to head up to Summerlin today, but eldest nephew is sick, so will come up with a different plan and hit the VB later today. Hope everyone has a great beer day!

    Happy hump day BA's

Still nice weather here for February - supposed to be sunny and near 50 - it was over that yesterday - I love it!

Nice NA brew - still have quite a number of these left from "dry January" - so will pop them into the rotation once in a while!

I ran a distributorship that sold B .United International's full portfolio and they were just starting with this method of shipping and. packaging huge bladders of beer. The beer was super fresh and cost a fraction in freight relative to the Euro-packaged bottles (cans came later). This commenced in the mid 00s if I recall correctly. At this remove in time this cutting edge technique was very unique and brilliant. It provided for a better chance of getting very fresh European beer.

Hello friends! Thanks @cambabeer for 3763 today. I feel like clearing out my lil' beer fridge a bit. Finding a combo or a plan is an adventure so I gotta just dive in and test the waters...how's about the final bottle from an Xmas variety pk: Stone 26th Anniversary TDH Imperial IPA. Just fantastic. This should really set the day in motion. Cheers!
