I am on a plane to California right now. I believe Pliny the Younger tappings should be hitting bars this weekend some places. I am unable to find a list of places to look for it.

Does anyone know of any bars tapping it this weekend between the town of Sonoma all the way up to Geyserville? We will
Be wine tasting all over the region and I would love to get a pint somewhere.
I had it back in 2013 and not since. Had PtE plenty of times but not younger. Need me a fix.

I will be AT Russian River this weekend but they sent it all out to distro. Their big release at their own locations is in late March and early April. I did find a regional thread to post in too. Cheers!

Just saw that on their site and definitely find it odd. Should be a good time at RR regardless. That’s a bucket list brewery for me. :beers:

Historically the PtY release was the first two weeks of Feb. when covid hit they couldn’t do this of course. Last year they tried to bring it back but right before it happened restrictions were being put back in place so they reacted by cancelling the big event and sending all the beer from that batch out to distro. They brewed another batch in March and had their event in late March early April. Restrictions had loosened by then and I guess the weather was great.

It seemed to work really well with the 2 stage release so they decided to do the same thing this year.

if they tapped it at their location it would be a stampede I bet. Hence this plan.

Yes, this is a good source for those seeking the younger in Southern california & beyond. I don’t believe it’s up north in NorCal? But I could be wrong.

Curious as to why you'd be opposed to a ticketed structure? Last year Davis Beer Shoppe sold Eventbrite tickets spread out over 4 days. Folks picked their day/time to come and get 10oz/$7 pour and there wasn't crowding, nor was their usual clientele impacted adversely. Worked really smoothly, as was able to coordinate the best time to meetup with a half dozen friends and enjoy PtY. Already tasted this year's batch, so I'm not willing to do a line for 'entry', but I'd gladly do another ticketed event (of simular structure) to get another PtY pour this year. Cheers

You need to come up to PDX some year. Belmont Station just tapped their keg. 8 ounce pours at 6.50 a pop. No lines, no ticket, and no purchase limit. I'm one of three people in the cafe.

Fair point, but some venues are not as well organized. Also, the good news is there is a lot more options than 8-10 years ago when I made an effort. May be this is the year!

Bar326 at the Grove/Farmers Market said that they keg kicked in just over an hour yesterday. But people were able to get a couple each, if they wanted them.

Not sure what PtY goes for at RR, but that seems like an incredible deal—below cost, even?

Belmont Station is a national treasure.

It's actually $6.50 for 8 ounces, but even that is a good price compared to other places in Portland.

I believe last year it was 7 or 8 for a 12oz pour at Green Cheek.

I had some Younger last Sunday in SF. Certain places get kegs and don't make a big thing out of it, as a service to locals who don't want to deal with the commotion.

My apologies. Yes, it's 6.50 for an 8 ounce glass. Hit the wrong button on my phone, and it's conceivable I might have been ever so slightly impaired as well when I posted.

Given the pricing at Apex, I asked Susan about the pricing at Belmont Station. She indicated that BS applied their normal mark up for their keg of Younger. She said some other things about Apex pricing as well which I won't repeat. No need to repeat the obvious.
