What does it mean that they're the same brewery? It's just two different brands brewed by the same people in the same place?

Those look like potato chips floating on top.

Yes, shared is a separate brand brewed by Side Project. Never had a beer from them. Perhaps I’ll hit their taproom at some point but they don’t distribute, at least here.

Shared Brewing allows the other brewers at SP to create their own recipes and also have final say in blending of barrel-aged beers. they make some good stuff. Coffee Shop Vibes is one of the best if not the best non-BA coffee stouts i’ve ever had, Coconut Vibes is hands down the best non-BA coconut stout i’ve ever had, Content Moderator (and it’s younger sibling Adjudicator) are amazing lagers. there’s also been some other one-offs. as far as blending barrel-aged beer, they pull from the same stock as SP (Derivation, BBT, etc). but again, it gives someone besides CK a chance to create a recipe or have final say in blending, and they also share some of the profits with the employees. it’s also my understanding the recipe they come up with is always theirs, even if they leave and work for another brewery or start their own brewery.

New Holland Brewing Dragon's Milk Reserve Coffee Chocolate. This is good, but more expensive than better recent BA coffee stout releases.

[IMG] This is a cloying sugar water mess for my taste. I sometimes like flavored stouts because they have a flavor while being sweet. This is like coffee with wayyyy to much sugar in it. I’m near ready to dump it. Cheers.

Update: dumped probably 8 or 9 ounces of it. One of those beers I go “how the hell did anyone like this?”

This stout is made with honey, waffles, cinnamon, vanilla & hazelnuts aged in rye whiskey barrels. Very tasty for a 12.08 % stout.

This is an imperial stout brewed with honey aged in Colorado whiskey barrels with maple syrup crystals.
    A little lighter at 10.2 % ABV.

    Wham Whams - Prison City

Dark charred malt, almost burnt. Nice bitterness, with very slight sweetness. Brownie crust and espresso. The coconut is an accent, which is a welcome change, that elevates the malt. It has an chipotle flavor and bite that carries through a long finish. Dense body and oily texture, with fine fizzy carbonation. Alcohol punches above weight with mild heat. Very well done, oh and I also learned what a Wham Wham is. Imagine my surprise!

oh, and then there is this…

    Ha! @BMBCLT ha!

Cross posting this one from the Big Stouts box. This is Odell Brewing Barrled Treasure Imperial Stout. Aged in Spirit Hound Whisky Barrels and clocking in at 12% ABV.
Odell is a brewery that I havent had beers from in quite a while as they are not available in Connecticut. Lets see where this 12% treat goes after it hits my glass. I will also add that the detail in the actual glass of the bottle is a cool touch!

    onto my review:
Im sampling this 12 oz bottle poured into my snifter at cellar temperature. BOttled in 2022 on date stamp. the beer pours a rich black coffee color and no light passes through the glass. A creamy beige head of maybe .5 cm foams up and fades to a sturdy edge layering quickly after the pour. This edging sticks around throughout the sampling and does leave some dense latticework when I swirl the glass or take a sip.
The aroma on this is roast malt, a bit of charred wood and a little bit of toffee. I dont get any hops and the beer isnt really boozy on the nose. Whisky is fairly subdued on the nose.
Physical feel of the beer is medium body with fine tingly carbonation. Beer doesnt leave much of a coating or feel sticky.
First sip reveals some brown sugar and molasses mixing with toffee and hints of whisky. There is some nice roasted malt character here too. Again no hops. Also the booze is pretty well hidden with no warmth or black pepper either.
Im drinking this beer pretty quick for a 12% beer and may need to slow down if I plan to have a second beer tonight.
Decent imperial stout, but not the top one in the Big Stouts box.
