    First one of the year.

Rye dark chocolate in smell, great body. Spicy taste, light coffee some alcohol but not a ton. Rye lingers on the tongue. Great beer and at $12 a pack might be the best bargain out there.

Incorrect glassware, sort but this is my current favorite beer glass. Can’t drink this one from the bottle.

    Enjoy

This is my favorite Imperial Stout in the Las Vegas Valley. It’s one of my favorite dozen imperial stouts period. Yes, it’s that good.

    Happy Comrade Day!!!

I have no doubt this beer is awesome!
Back in 2021 Moksa collaborated with Sierra Nevada on a pastry stout (which i enjoy in small doses) and man that beer was phenomenal. Never had anything that good under the SNBC label so figured it had to be Moksa!
    Cheers!

With round 1 today enjoyed a Treehouse Double Shot, man this was good! Reminds me of a smaller version of Alesmith Speedway Stout back in the day! Thanks to a certain BA in PA for sending this!
    Cheers!

Nah! Hater at heart. He doesn't know wtf he's talking about. He prefers low ABV, thin-bodied, over-hopped Old Raspy.

Onto round 2, was inspired by @BeerVikingSailor post in WBAYDN. Wanted to toast his Pops and to toast my Dad as he left this rock and his broken body 8 years ago this month.
Thirsty Dog BA Siberian Night is solid and not overly boozy. I have one more left and am thinking of sitting on it to see how the beer and the barrel blend together over a year or so.
    Cheers!

Cross posting two posts from the Cellaruary thread to give Dark Horse a little 'press' exposure:

Dark Horse Brewing BBA Plead the 5th I think this is a 2019 vintage (Dark Horse doesn't date their bottles/cans.) This beer is tied with Bell's Black Note as my favorite BBA stout. It's the oldest beer that I could find in my cellar (and the last one), so it's time to see it go.

There's still a nice bourbon character along with the richness of the malt, but it's probably just starting to increase the dark fruit character, which I'm not a fan of when too strong, so another reason that it's time to see it go.

I still have three bottles of non-BBA Plead the 5th that I think are also 2019 beers, so once those are gone I'll start drinking all of the various 2020 beers. I can hardly wait.

Dark Horse Plead the 5th Imperial Stout:
I was wrong in my last post about Dark Horse not dating their bottles/cans (first error this year ). This bottle has a lightly-printed, slightly-smudged date on the neck which looks like Feb 2020. I've always liked this beer fresh, and I've always been skeptical whether beers improve much with some age, but this one certainly did! There's extra richness from the malt that I don't recall when this beer was fresh, so there you are - cellaring can work.

I had no idea. I wonder if that means all the great breweries who typically don’t ship here will start soon as well. Cheers.
