Howdy, all! Friday night is well and truly in the back pocket here in Oz, so it's time to hog the WBAYDN limelight and release the visual glory of this IPA from Broulee Brewhouse, hailing from the south coast of New South Wales. This is a sweet, juicy, tropical fruit basket and it will get the full treatment over on the New Beer Weekend thread at some stage this weekend when I get around to it.

Have a great weekend everyone, and will see you at the virtual bar sometime in the next 24 hours!

    Cheers!

Good day! It’s not yet the time to drink in the backyard some fine IPA but we in the northern hemisphere are happily following this Australian summer.

As often I am drinking this, I’m fairly redundant with my choice of beers. Got a handful rotating each week… this is one of them.

    Cheers.

Personally, I'd prefer that Aussie in my backyard!

She has a sister you know? Dani Minogue:

I like Aussie women but my « preference » goes to Nicole Kidman. Not because she’s a beauty, great and classy actress.

We're all classy - it's those antipodean genes. They just scream class.

    Cheers!

Here's another greeting from the northern hemisphere.
Today the working day started very early due to work to be done away, so now a little break at home and then back to the office after lunch.
So from the fridge I took something quick and undemanding:

LAGUNITAS IPA (6.2%) produced by Heineken (Amsterdam, NED)

For my taste, more than decent NOT craft beer produced and distributed by Heineken in Holland, "under the supervision of Lagunitas Brewing Company (California, USA)", as reported on the label.
    What a splendid lie!
Always on the label: "Best before: 08/25/2023".
It's in fairly good shape and seems quite fresh to me, even if I have tasted more fragrant ones.
For €2.75 in the supermarket it can be used as a drink that is not at all demanding.
The intensity of the final bitterness, more marked than products intended for mass consumption, is the element that makes me choose it over even more anonymous offers.

Good day BAs! Thanks @AzfromOz for starting us off, and to @Shanex and @Jack_14 for getting the EuroBAs represented!
"Produced and distributed by Heineken in Holland, "under the supervision of Lagunitas Brewing Company (California, USA)" - thanks for the warning - I'll make sure to avoid it next month when I'm sucking down that good German beer on location in Bavaria!

Right on the cusp of rain/sleet/snow this morning (31F/-1C) - driveway was wet and starting to get glassy when I got the paper an hour ago. But consequently, today's New Breakfast Beer - an alleged "winter warmer":

Little malt and weak, mixed spices. Rating 3.37, rDev -5.3 (First review, second rating)

The brewer is located in Kane, PA, about an hour up the road. They're in the a remaining chunk of boreal forest and frequently have the lowest temperatures of any town in PA.

Good morning, BAs! I've been craving a random breakfast sandwich creation all week, and the extra long weekend seemed like a great excuse to give it a shot. Of course, cooking means beer ... :grinning:

I went with double meat (honey ham and applewood smoked bacon), a couple of slices of sharp cheddar, a single egg each (ostensibly over easy, but I suck at eggs, so it was more like "runny messy easy"), spicy mayo, and a roasted poblano. I'd say this worked. :grinning:

Cheers, and horns up! Some new funeral/death-doom I really enjoyed for the first time yesterday. @GreenBayBA @superspak

Fireplace. West coast IPA from Salikatt Bryggeri (Norway).
Still winter here. I better make myself comfortable near the open fireplace downstairs.

    Happy Friday BA's

Did a very chilly 1.6 mile hike with Emma earlier - man, what a change in the weather!

Also picked up some Murphys Irish Stout - the older I get - I think I prefer this over Guinness!

    Happy Friday BA's!

Today is my 10th year on BA, but I have only been really here since last year.
Not only do I learn about beer, learning about music here is an added bonus.

Allagash Coolship Resurgam 2018, spontaneously fermented ale aged in French oak wine barrels, 1-3 year old blend, really reminds me of Tilquin.

I might check back in later tonight, going to see Tim Hagans, who is an excellent trumpet player from Houston. He has a new quartet starting tonight, and my good friend Thomas Helton will be the bass player. Of coarse I'm biased but Helton is really one of the better bass players out there IMO. Hagans has had all kinds of accolades, Grammy's, done soundtracks for movies. They are going on a mini tour after tonight. If I get back at a reasonable time, I'll post back

It will be played at a great venue in Houston, called MATCH. There will be booze, both beer and cocktails a plenty, as well as a stop off at a cool record store in the area  :sunglasses:

    See everyone later tonight...maybe
