My brother picked up the 12 Variety Pack everyone has been talking about. Two are new to me, one surprisingly so (Torpedo), though I think I’ve had and just didn’t rate it (or can’t find the rating).

    Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

We don’t have much distribution access to fresh SNPA at home beyond perhaps draft at The Beer Temple.

    1) Urban Growler De-Lovely Porter (5.6%): An English Porter from Minnesota with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, light coffee roast, creamy and smooth.
    versus
    2) Bent Paddle Black (6.0%): An American Porter/Stout from Minnesota that has flavors of roasty coffee, oats, and a dry chocolate finish. (Correctly matched the two blind)

    Winner:
    2) Bent Paddle Black:
De-Lovely Porter was a good and easy-drinking English Porter. Smooth, creamy, mild. Bent Paddle has grown on me and I think they may have also improved their recipe with some renaming and new canning art. All-around standard American Stout. One of my favorites along with Founders and Edmund.

Triptych Black Lager. I really like this one. Notes of chocolate, black licorice, and roast coffee. Czech Saaz hops add a nice spicy herbal quality. Go Blues!

    1) Junkyard Rock the Cash Bar (7.2% canned 12/22/22): A NEIPA (Vermont) from Minnesota with Citra, Vic Secret, Ekuanot for flavors of juicy orange and lemon citrus, zesty pineapple, and mango.
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Scrap Metal (7.5% canned 10/31/22): A NEIPA from Chicago with Ekuanot, Citra & El Dorado for flavors of ripe orange, lime, guava, bubblegum, and melon with a herbal cannabis note. (Correctly matched the two blind)

    Winner:
    1) Junkyard Rock the Cash Bar:
Not easy to beat Hop Butcher, although this was one of my least favorite from Hop Butcher and also older. Scrap Metal has some dank cannabis flavors which aren't always my thing, but still drinks pretty well. The win goes to Junkyard. This is one fantastic NEPIA which they label as a Vermont IPA. Still not sure what that exactly what that criteria means. Citrus, zesty, and flavorful, yet clean. Junkyard has shown they can make some good NEIPAs when they need to. This may be one of the best I've had. Definitely going to pick this one up again if I can.

2 neighbors and one of my daughters, plus mine of course. I have a snow blower, so not as much shoveling needs done. My daughter's I shovel, can't get the blower to her house. That one sucks. If it's a dry, powdery snow, no problem, but if it's wet and heavy, that's another story. Plus her driveway goes up, then flattens out, then goes up, then flattens out. Who does a driveway that way? Cheers!
