    Outside of Half Acre and these guys, IPA is kind of stuck in the early 2000's in Chicagoland. I no longer see the appeal of crystal/caramel malts in those beers. Outside of a few classics that bring back memories, most IPAs just taste oxidized.

    Hmm. Not that I go out of my way for IPA too often, but when I do I've never experienced this.

    Well we are on opposite ends of the spectrum regarding Munich malt in pale ales, but that doesn’t change our shared opinion on this beer. It’s clearly got no specialty malt. Nobody will accuse it of being balanced, daresay malty. It’s no more than pilsner and two row

    Trying a Concision now and loving it. As someone who was living in southern California a decade ago, this nails the vibe of so many west coast breweries at the start of the hop wars of the early 2010s. This is what it was like before things got too ridiculous and out of hand, when breweries still cared about the resulting flavors instead of the arms race of who could put the highest number of IBUs in their marketing text.

    spot on. Feels like something I would have traded for from Alpine. Although it’s rare to find a beer that still emphasizes bitterness like it was emphasized back then. The bitterness in Concision isn’t going to hurt anybody’s mouth like a Pliny or Ruination

    3 new cans this week that I'm very exicted for;

    House Lager (4.4% abv)
    Into The Tilt (5.8% abv) - American IPA w/ amarillo, centennial incognito, and columbus cryo
    Definitional Drift (5.7%) - Modern Pale Ale - hazy pale

    Love that everything is sub 6%, going to definitely bring some to "The Big Game" party!

    Is it still out? I had it back in December and it sold out before I could grab a second 4-pack.

    First try of the House Lager this afternoon. I don't hate it, but I sort of wish the hop characters was toned down a little, and a little less spicy.

    Also, the head crashed to zero -- hope they aren't having trouble with the traveling canning system.

    Ha! I came in for some House Lager on Saturday myself! I thought it was great, like a toned down version of their helles. I'm sure the hop presence will drop off with time.

    I also had the Concision and holy crap, still so damn good. Need more California IPA.

    I'm not sure if anyone knows the guys, but a couple of the bartenders at RT bought(leased?) the old Flesk Brewing space to kick off the retail operations for the Sundial brewery.

    I heard that last night at RT. My drinking buddy and I are going to check it out when it's open.

    FWIW -- bartender Tim was making it clear that RT and Sundial AREN'T affiliated.
