Really quite good, but I've never had a bad brew from Lawson's, despite the the time it takes for the bears to carry some down here from VT. Rating 3.98, rDev -1%

 

Good morning everyone,
woke up early today and now home for a lunch break, then back to the office.
As an aperitif, I'm drinking a beer that I really like and which is part of a series that involves the use of unconventional yeasts in collaboration between this brewery and the University of Perugia.

Birra dell'Eremo (Assisi, ITA) - MADUE - Passion Fruit Sour Ale (5,6%)

33 cl can, bought recently but already drunk several times

"Best before: 05/2023".
On the nose immediately notes of passion fruit (10% pulp used), with slight astringency.
When poured, it makes very little foam and very little consistency and is slightly darker straw yellow.
Great smoothness in the mouth, aided by the right carbonation, much more fruity than "sour" for my tastes, but still balanced.
At the entrance where the first taste that arrives is that of exotic fruit, a slight astringency of lactic acid follows one another... all very quickly.
Pleasant and fresh, simple but not banal.
I looked to see if there was wheat because of an ending that reminded me of that cereal, but not quite in fact...
It's much more likely that it's a nuance due to the unconventional yeast used (Kluyveromyces Thermotolerans).
However the drink is short, clean even the taste of passion fruit runs out briefly and the tongue remains dry.

Good day/morning BAs! Mr. Terrazzo is polishing the floors. Tui and I are enjoying the patio with “Pressed Imperial Porter - reserve”, an imperial porter with tons of Tugboat Coffee, from Phase 3 Brewing Company, Lake Zurich, IL:




No canning date, but I’m check-in #2 and #3 on Untappd! Poured at 52°. Drank way too cold out of the bar’s cooler yesterday, and I loved it. Warmer, this is the best imperial coffee porter I’ve had in a long while! Tons of coffee in nose/on tongue. Very little warmth from 12% abv. Expensive (retail) but I may buy out the cooler!

Lots going on this cool partly cloudy 70° morning, so I’ve gotta go…have a terrific Tuesday y’all, and Cheers!
