I posted this back very early in the thread. It feels very much like Untappd. I also feel this might not be fully true since the changes here seem not always fully thought out. If it was being pushed by corporate it would be handed over complete and u nable to be changed.

    Enjoy

Also, you keep on claiming that I haven't fully thought things out. That's simply untrue. I prefer to launch things, get feedback, and then make tweaks based on that feedback. I also run a bunch of stuff by the mod team. This gets the community involved and I get some great feedback from multiple perspectives. Anyone who's actively been here as long as you have, and following the updates to this site over the years, should know this.

All good. Always good to listen to feedback and make changes as needed. With out change this site would not be what it is today.

    Enjoy

I've seen a few guys on WBAYDN? who seem to be trying to hit this milestone in one night. (Not gonna mention any names; you know who you are.)

Thanks for explaining what a good leader does. I might have to copy and modify this for some people I know who don't get it.

For all this talk about becoming a poo-bah here I don’t see nearly enough usage of the phrase “Huzzah!”

:grimacing: I want Pooh-Bah to be achievable for those who stick around and put in the work.

I think everyone will be happy as to where things landed.

    More tomorrow...

I really like the levels of participation and incremental earning you more and more, but I feel like place reviewing is madly undervalued. Actually, I always have...

Reviewing 1000 beers = 100 points (some of you, and you know who you are, tick off a whole lot of beers at beer festivals and the like. That aside, you can easily wrangle 50+ beer ticks in a month by just being out and about).
Reviewing 1000 places = 100 points (you have to work for this. you have to travel for this. I would know. I was the first to bang 1000 places and it took me like 13 years).

Exploring beers from 25 states = 30 points (you know can do this in a week's time from the comfort of your living room).
Visiting 25 states = 30 points (that's navigating 1/2 the continental US and takes a whole lot of time, effort, energy, money, and planning).

I really do like the concept, Todd, and thank you.
IMHO, it's just not apples to apples on beer vs places (nothing you haven't heard from me before).

You're definitely an outlier, in that you put a TON of effort into your place reviews, but the reality is that most place reviews are just as long as most beer reviews. You also have to travel, trade, and spend a lot of money and time to obtain beers.

You can't compare old points to new points. It's all relative to the new point system, which is applied evenly to everyone.

Just having a bit of fun with @monkist.

Karma points aren't all that 'important' to me but it seems that many other BAs get 'excited" here?

    Cheers to good beer!:beers:

Remember last time right after the revamp I said when I first saw your new score I was shocked… because you were at around 1000 something?

Now having seen the numbers change again, the first thing I had to check (after mine) was your points - and either you had quite a few new beers in the last weeks or I had too many tonight but your glass looked a bit “less half empty” to me…

Guess it might only be a grass is greener kinda thing, still I’m glad to see a bit more in your glass:wink::beers:

Man, a glass that never runs empty would be a dream come true!:smiley::beer:

…btw after all these glasses I just read about cenosillicaphobia, it is a thing and I might be affected…:fearful::beers::tired_face:

True, but there are a lot more beers to review than there are places and the upper limit on beers one can realistically review in one day is a good deal higher places.

Thanks for all the time put into the overhaul and for listening to feedback:beers:
