Pliny the Younger Tappings

Nice to see Vinnie and Natalie out this way checking up on things during Younger days.

Reminds me a bit of one time when I was in Hollywood doing some record shopping in a retail area on Sunset Blvd that also housed a restaurant. I get on the elevator with a couple of other people, then on the next floor Wolfgang Puck steps in the elevator. One of the other folks on the elevator asks him what he's doing there, and Wolfang says in his heavy Austrian accent "Quality control!".

 

I had it at Bagby Saturday. It's probably still on.

Even better, Bagby still has a series of guest taps from their Lager-fest still flowing. Lagers from Austin Beer Garden, Heater Allen, etc.

Vinnie and Natalie were awesome. They were honestly interested in talking with fans, and it was an overall great time. I also asked Vinnie if Hopfather will make its way down to Southern California, and it looks promising.

 

I miss the 10am Toronado kegs. Nothing like drinking 60oz of Younger in 2 hours and calling the wife to pick me up. They would always do 2 in a row...always so chill.

I believe Beelman's in DTLA will be tapping today. Last year was very mellow with no crowd or limit.

To be clear: this is O'Brien's in San Diego, not the O'Brien's in Santa Monica. I'm glad I called first.

 

Was really hoping to make it to the Carlsbad Brewing tapping today, but it didn't work out. Hope those who made it had a great time.

They actually tapped it yesterday. I had 3 pours last night.

 

they posted on insta that thell have it available today . so maybe they have more

 

Their announcement was so weird, not sure if that was on purpose or if they just didn't know how to do it cuz they're more of a cocktail place. From what I saw they posted yesterday about their RRB taps, but didn't include Younger on the list. People asked about it, they didn't confirm if it was one of them... then they posted again today saying it's on along with the other beers, when like you said it was on last night.
Maybe their social media person just has a lot of friends that wanted it for themselves, who knows

Glad you were able to get a few pours easily though! I ended up at Malibu Wine's wine/beer spot in West Hills for a friend of a friend's bday party on Saturday, and their keg had been on since Wednesday and was still going strong. It was nice to get a few pours and be able to laugh a little about everyone else drinking mediocre wine around me

 

Surly Encino tapped it last night. The place was only a third full, so I had 4 pours of it. A special thank you goes to Lyft for getting me home safely. They will likely have it on tap again tonight.
