3Fs finally gives the people what they want... and somehow... they still bitch.

 

I suspect there will be a booth with plenty of vintage and possibly new regular bottles for sale at DLD.

 

Or you could get bottles for 15 bucks on various boards pretty much any time you want.

 

My guess is they've simply reserved more for aging while also producing slightly less overall, since everyone has always wanted more variants. Hopefully this means there's a dedicated straight bourbon or rye variant, perhaps even 2 year aged.

Admittedly, I haven't cracked an Ice but I did go out and venture for the variety pack to set myself up with some this weekend. The last ZD I had was last summer and the can was in distro beautifully under 2 weeks old. Was throwback fantastic, exactly what the weather ordered, and left me craving another one...

 

Had one of each of those last night. ZD is just over 2 weeks old and drinking wonderfully. Ice is very good and looking forward to it being year round. I put it a hair behind Permanent Funeral, but I’ll be buying plenty as long as it’s fresh, it’s so hard for me to find fresh ZD at my local spots.

 

This variety pack fucks. Such a cool mix of beers. Zombie Ice is 10/10 super good. Just bitter enough and def like double the citrusy goodness.

 

If only it had Alpha King or even Gumballhead instead of Barbarian Haze it would be a regular purchase for me.

 

Sounds like stuff will be rotating so eventually?

 

They just need to make a light pilsner bombed with citra and call it Garage Zombie or Lawnmower Zombie or something.

 

How does one figure out the bottling dates on the ZD bottles?

 

I’ve tried and can’t find anything the past year or so. I tend to stick with cans unless I make a trek to the brewery.

 

Looks like a local beer bar has a FFF DIPA on tap called Animalized. These cuts inside my lip have kept me from drinking but if I'm healed up soon I'll go have a pour

 

A place by me has it too. You may already know, but the description is "pilot test batch of the upcoming Zombie Ice Citra-hopped Double Pale Ale." Since I was able to grab it in the variety pack, I decided not to try it on tap. Let us know how close it is to the final product!

 

Zombie Ice is pretty darn good! Lived up to my expectations and will certainly seek this out again.

 

its usually printed on the neck of the bottle, not always consistent though.

i was able to grab some in november that was bottled end of october, it was less than two weeks old and made it out to chicago.

 

Can confirm from the brewpub employee that they are opening back up sometime this year.

 

Morale of the story- if three Floyd’s puts something in print, they aren’t going to do it…
