The moral of the story is that Michigan BAs purposely do not post it on the forums for a damn fine reason. Everybody and their grandmother will turn it into a shitshow and everybody complains (i.e. 4elf, winter solstice, etc). It is for that exact reason that Dark Horse called it quits on their Facebook page a few weeks ago.

Bell's purposely does a quiet release and just because Michigan BAs respect their wishes, they get called not-advocates/boarders/etc?

I heard about this from a fellow Michigan BA and I happened to be traveling to SW Michigan to see family for the holidays. I always call the General Store whenever I pass through, just to find out if anything interesting is in the coolers. It was nice to be able to walk in, grab a couple bottles, and not have to trip and stumble through hundreds of people. I'm not local to Bells anymore, but once I noticed there was no topic of it being available, I made sure to respect it. Still wish Kuhnhenn would do this with BBBW.

Haha...this thread is comical. Long story short...if you see it or hear about it being on a shelf....go buy it yourself! If it's not there but you feel entitled to it....trade for it! Simple.

I'm from Chicago, started the post and just happened to be in Kalamazoo for the holidays visiting the inlaws. After a few expedition stouts on tap I went to the store as always and saw the black notes( and 2003 expeditions and 4 year vertical or $48)....I thought man, I can't believe no one has posted a thread...though am I really going to be the guy to start it and give us Chicago folk a worse street cred than we already have when the caravans start heading east on 94??

Hence the post after the sellout, or so it appears as I was there Saturday and bought bottles 250ish. And I used my wife's 2 allotment for my two BA's in Chicago that have take care of me in the past (BBPT5).

Moral of my long lame post? I took care of me and a few boys back home and kept the Bells secret to the locals...sense of entitlement has gotten out of hand. Whatever happened to the old "right place at the right time"

And back to drinking my Angels Envy

"How's it tasting"? Seriously? At least come up with a better humblebrag if you're going to post a useless thread.

If his bottles were around 250, how did they sell another 1250 bottles in just over a day?

Bottles aren't necessarily brought out in the order. I picked my bottles at noon on Friday and they were in the 500's. I'm highly doubting 500 people made it in from 9-12 on Friday before me, as I was the only person in the store at the time.

I call dibs on the last word in this thread.

Shut it everyone. Quit bitching and go enjoy the day off. Drink one of the other beers you have. Beers are meant for consumption, not staring at.

(unless you have a 2009 mirror mirror or black butte XXII bottle)

Ahh, but the best part is, the Bells General Store staff WILL answer your questions. If you use magic Google (not the base engine Google, Magic Google), and search for their phone number, you can dial that number, talk to a cyborg that you will swear is real, and it will gladly fulfill all your questions not answered by the cloak wearing BLACK NOTE MEMBERS!

I could be wrong but BN is already barrel aged. I do not believe it is a twice barrel aged beer, and not sure why OP put the BA in the title
