I get so much email that I barely check my personal account. Was scrolling through it tonight and saw I got the email. Wild.

it’s not really about whether a specific batch was put into barrels. they start with the base beer in the barrels (whatever they decide to pull - last time it was even vines recipe) and then add the coffee. if they do BA CSV again, i would think it would be a different bean just cuz they never seem to keep anything the same. but who knows.

aka draft-only small batch BA CSV

i’ve never been able to make it for one of those but did get to try one of the base stouts at a StL craft beer week event at SP. that was a ton of fun! went through the whole cupping process and smelling and tasting various beans. essentially the same process the brewers go through when trying to find a bean to fit a beer.

There is a backstory (supposedly) behind the mason jar if you read the comments of the accompanied Whiskey Hill reviews lol

I was lucky enough to get invited to join La Coterie this year. I am curious what the included bottles were this past year or the past couple years if someone has that info.
It isn’t about whether it is worth it to join, just curious of what I’m looking forward to.

Most of the LC emails are just early access to bottles that will eventually be offered to the public, so I’ll just list stuff that was LC-only, or things that LC got without a package.

3/1 - The Scribe b2 (can’t remember if it ever got a public sale)
    3/28 - Forever Darkness
4/20 - Single Thread ‘22 (LC-only on paper but they had a ton and it was available to-go for the public)
    4/27 - DB Generational
    6/8 - Rye BBT ‘22
7/25 - Anabasis b6 (in a package, but no limit)
    8/22 - Tete v20 (no limit)
8/30 - Oude Fermier v20 (package, but no limit)
    9/13 - Terminus Rye & Bourbon
    10/11 - Continuance b3
10/25 - BBT ‘22 (both single bottle and advance access to a package)
    12/15 - Flim Flam
    1/24 - Parallels
2/7 - Van Winkle BBT (single bottle + package)
    2/21 - OWK b2
