Trappist Rochefort 10. I'll always have time for an old favorite such as this.

@Schmittymack - Glad your Ellis Island Egg Nog held up well this long. Didn’t think to ask if they still had any when I visited a few weeks ago.

An oldy but still a goody in every facet.

Full treatment in the extended Cellaruary thread. WBAYDN treatment, this beer refrigeration has held all the qualities as it did fresh. No need to age, but no need to worry if refrigerated.

Thanks for passing along the sad news regarding Wayne Shorter @champ103 . I'll provide a treatment with my beer tomorrow, will go with the OG plan of honouring J. T. Walsh. I can't believe it's been 25 years earlier this week (2/27/1998).

$25 bought more than a hyped four pack back in the day.

Seems nearly everyone is a grifter these days, took skill and wits back in the day.

    1) Oliphant Rusket Dark (5.0%):
A "Wisconsin" Dark Lager with flavors of dusty cocoa, chocolate, and roasty grains.
    versus
    2) Badger State SKI-BRW (5.6%): A Czech Dark Lager from Wisconsin with dark grains earthy caramel and floral flavors. (Correctly matched the two blind)

    Winner:
    2) Badger State SKI-BRW:
A couple of Wisconsin Dark Lagers. Oliphant Rusket Dark drinks more like a Schwarzbier, with a light and dusty roasted cocoa note. Could use a little more malt as the roast turns slightly sour. Badger State SKI-BRW is an excellent Czech Dark Lager. Not as bready as some others like Utepils or Fair State, but captures the European hop flavors with a floral and earthy caramel flavor. These are both pretty good, but digging the Czech flavors.
