In 1971 my Dad bought me a Holdsworth Equipe 5 speed that was geared to go very fast. It was a beautiful orange and blue with Campagnolo derailleur, Brooks saddle, and a gorgeous etched handlebar (decorative England map on either side). I gave it to a friend who has totally rebuilt it and it is beautiful. For that time the bike was very light. I rode that bike everywhere!

 

This what I found and it's a beautiful bike!!

Just a quick note about older bikes, I posted this picture last year. The bike is a GT that I bought in the early nineties and put a couple of thousand miles on it. The derailer snapped off from metal fatigue. Fortunately, I was going uphill, and it just came to a quick stop. Don't want to think about what would have happened if I was going downhill at speed.

 

That's it for sure and an avid cyclist friend rides it weekly and adores it. Thanks for the picture. Now that is pure positive nostalgia!

Needed a furnace filter and checked the beer aisle while I was there and found this hockey inspired ale, Big Deal Brewing Original Golden Ale. Brewed by Labatt USA. $7.99 for a 6 pack of 16 oz cans. It's nothing to write home about, but it's also not bad. Malty and sweet, with just enough bitterness to keep it from being cloying. Reminds me of an American-style Oktoberfest, not a Golden Ale . Leaves some nice lacing.

Allagash finally landed here, $15 a six pack. Guess I'll wait and see if I can get it on tap at Tap 22 on $2 day. Otherwise, too pricey for my blood.

Well the wife came home from her mammogram and bone density test and was hungry, so she whipped up some shrimp alfredo/bread/veg for lunch and it's great! Ology Brewing Sensory Overload hazy Citra IPA bought at the brewery a week ago today is great!

 

Enjoy mr. dude shoes!! I lived there near the Edison home from 1972-1980, they were great times!
