Back then? Sure. Now: sit on his couch, crack open one. Take a photo and post it here, drink it, toilet, rinse and repeat.

As Toby Keith used to sing:

    1) Spiral Hard Left (6.3%):
A Milk Stout from Minnesota with flavors of smooth milk chocolate, oatmeal cream, vanilla, and tapioca pudding.
    versus
    3) Founders Porter (6.5%): A Robust Porter from Michigan with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, lactose, mocha, coffee roast and a smooth finish. (Correctly matched the two blind)

    Winner:
    2) Founders Porter:
Two excellent porter/stouts here. Spiral has impressed me with this one. Smooth, creamy, and rich milk stout. Not usually a fan of the style, but this one is delightful. More impressive as I drink this one. Hard to beat Founders though. A bit more roasty as expected. Just enough bittersweet, but also soft and smooth. Winner due to seniority but both of these are perfect. May be the most drinkable Porter out there.

There’s some weird barter system down here where folks from Wisco trade Spotted Cow for Yuengling. Pops isn’t crazy about Yuengling so helping him rotate his stock.

My favorite of the recent collab week brews. Crisp and refreshing but still full of citrus and fruity hop flavors.

"Stupidly Long Name", a QDH QIPA from Larvian brewery Arpus (12%).

This is undoubtedly very well done for what it is, but I'd still rather have a DIPA, to be honest. More ABV and dry-hopping simply does not improve an IPA after a certain cut-off point, with the hops just feeling more muddled up, overripe and burning instead of expressive and well-defined. Still nowhere near as sweet and boozy as I had expected.

...my bicycle -- Trek 7200 hybrid...bought it used in 2003 in Tacoma, WA...shattered my upper left arm falling from it that year...also had a Trek road bike at the time but my wife sold it to a one-legged man (true story) a few years back...I've used this thing over the years for day trips, cross-country bicycle journeys (the longest being 2 1/2 weeks riding from Colorado Springs to Columbus, OH in 2005), and tons of day rides...it ain't fancy (neither am I) yet it serves it's purpose...got to dust it off, lube it up, and put air in the tires as it's time to get out of the gym and onto the open roads and trails...

From a growler filled at the brewery in Keene this afternoon.

Pours into my tulip glass an opaque gold with a creamy and bubbly off white head. Good retention and fluffy lace sticks to the glass.

Scent is mango, pineapple, orange, pine needles. Lime. Some dankness which comes across as weedy and oniony to me. Love that smell.

Taste is spicy up front with pine resin and dankness. The citrus (limes, grapefruit) and tropical fruits (mango, guava, pineapple) come in afterwards. Earthy. There's a very nice bitterness here which I don't often find in NEIPA's.

Mouth is juicy and quenching with a puckering astringent finish.

Very interesting NEIPA. Both the taste and the feel differ from the usual style. More bitter, resiny and astringent; less soft pillowy and tropical fruit sweetness. I haven't had a single modestman brew that failed to impress. This one is no exception.
