    blah, blah, blah…

So, they’re saying Jesus Christ owns this brewery? Is everyone required to stand and pledge fealty when the owner makes a grand entrance?

Lol. That response is even funnier if you watch the new Chris Rock special:

“Every business is full of shit. Everybody you do business, they don’t even tell you about the product no more. They just tell you how much charity they do. “We give back. We like to give back””

I'm seriously dying over this and the other response. Damn the entitlement (but its earned!) is real

Yeah, no. Customers created those jobs. If you didn't run the business to meet the demands the customers had, someone else would have. So fuck off.

My pet peeve. Overly generous brewery owners.

Traveling by boat to a small North Carolina town, we stop in a tiny brewery. Owner has the audacity to ask if we want to use his car. And every year we stop in it’s the same thing, wanting to know if we want a car, bicycles, fishing gear, going for takeout- do we want anything. If he’s sitting at the bar, he immediately gives up his chair to a customer.

I mean he’s a 1.5 barrel brewery magnate and all but doesn’t act like he’s owed anything. When will this madness end?

I feel like all cans should have a date. Many here in New England do not, so you really have no way of knowing freshness.

I check Breweries websites before I go to see if they have some new brews that I want to try and when I get there I find they haven't kept up with what they are serving. Bummer. If you have a website-keep it up to date!!!

No, you see that’s how you create hype through rarity.

“Dude, you ever heard of Incognito Brewing? They have the number one rated beer on Beeradvocate and Untappd. But they only release it twice a year. And it’s a lottery. If you win, you get a code that’s longitude and latitude. When you get there, you give them your license and registration and are designated to a numbered spot. You then have to answer a beer trivia question (mine was, “What are all the Noble Hops?”). Get it right, you get your beer. Get it wrong, you have to go out back and clean the mash tun. Then the next time they release the beer, they change their location and start all over again.”

Perhaps they should consult with a local brewery (All American Brew Works) owner who also does a ton of charitable support work with both sponsored events and monetary donations, yet that owner feels no need to have a special designated seat for himself.

I’d be intrigued to know where. Sounds like an awesome little brewery I should visit.

I spit out my coffee when I was reading this. I think I’m going to wait till the owners arrive and tell them what fuck wads they are and never go back. Oh, I’m so wealthy I dont care if I have more customers, I am so important and special and I want you to know. I do not live any place near here so I can’t actually do this.

@NorsemanOne , I would never go back after that reply you got. I don’t care how great anything is. I am quite good at boycotting, especially when it comes to not supporting d’bags.

Maybe open up all the seats and since you are so wealthy ask the people in your seats to kindly move and offer them the night on the house. This would cost less than keeping seats closed 99% of the time I would think.

    Enjoy

Just looked at the online tap list of a very highly regarded spot in Providence. It says at the top of the page "Updated Mach 2, 1:27 PM." Blows my mind.

I had an experience a couple of years ago at an Oregon Brewery. Maybe it was me!?! I am the type that wants to try as many breweries out there and see what is being done differently. I discovered beer was infected at this Oregon brewery. Another soul and I were in the brewery tap room at the time. It was around 1600. I am sampling beer to see what I am going to drink. I had plenty of time to kill so I planned on staying a while. I came across this beer that was off. I inquired about it maybe it was supposed to be sour blonde ale with cooked veggies, not sure. She was like I do not know. Okay is there someone here who would? A few minutes later a big burly bearded individual comes out. So I ask him, and he said it was blonde ale. I asked did you purposely make sour with this odd flavor. He said no, and I do not know what I am talking about. He went on a tirade about how is the brewer and that is a blonde ale. with nothing else. I was going to ask him to try it, but that was probably pushing it. I had a similar experience at a different brewery and the response was totally different. A productive conversation ensued. In fact, almost all the breweries have visited, said let us talk about the process. But there have been a few like the one mentioned above. Be receptive to customers and if they have genuine questions, answer them professionally. The best experience I had was at The Bruery. I was there quaffing and talking about beer and 20 minutes later there were 12 other staff and assistant brewers at the table talking beer with us for a few hours.

I feel like bars are the worst offenders of this. I know a handful of bars with great tap lists around the Boston area that don't update their tap lists for weeks.

That's only because you weren't sitting in any of their seats.

I was pretty appalled at the behavior, like I said I haven't seen them in my one-year-this-week of attending $4 pint nights, and I'm hoping I won't ever see them because I'd certainly give them a piece of mind(and all who've shared as well!)

That's a big reason I started the 'wins' thread because I know there are good people out there and enjoy hearing about that much more.

    Cheers!

It sucks because this place is great. Awesome beers on tap. Pay a lot of attention to the beers they put on and the quality of the pours, etc. Also have very good food. Updating the list seems like such an obvious way to show you care about what you do, and yet they don't do it. I'm sure running the business is hard and something like this is easily forgotten, but still, how hard can it really be?
