Not an issue, since one should hand wash beer glasses.

the experience really doesn't change. good beer is a good beer regardless. thats my point. take your overpriced glassware and shove it

A stemmed angled oversized wine glass for everything. A lager glass as a backup. A mug for Oktoberfest. That's it.

Over the years I accumulated a lot of glassware. When we downsized our home I got rid of many that I hardly ever used. Shaker pints may not be ideal but they are sturdy, dishwasher safe, and last forever. The SA Perfect Pint works well for most styles (at east the styles that I like). I have some relative expensive IPA classes that I never use but they are too expensive to give away:slight_smile:. I also have some cheap IPA glasses that I bought at some discount store that I use quite a bit. If you like your "Pilsner" glass, you may be all set.

I agree. I like to find glasses on the cheap. I enjoy my beers just as much when I drink from the can/bottle at times when I can't pour up or don't feel like it.

i was mainly being extra on that, but my opinion stands.

I DO own glassware (most were pricey)but i only use it when i split a bottle with wife at home or if it's for a wbayanrna photo , but i mostly drink out the bottle/can

Lol I get you tho. It's really what you make it. If you think you enjoy it 1 way more you'll enjoy it that way more imo. If it's a good beer it'll be good out of any vessel.

Most of mine are below 10$ have a few I spent 12-15$ on. I am tempted to buying some Waterford crystal glasses sometime tho so I can be extra when I want to be.

I drink mostly IPAs and stouts and I did do a couple side by side comparisons with an IPA in a tulip alongside some in a taller but narrower pseudo- pilsner glass and in the tested example the color difference was striking. The tulip showed a deeper darker gold because I was looking at light thru more beer. I also did IPA in tall tulip v. mug and the smell was much more apparent in the top of the tulip. It is cool that you sense no differences. You save time, money, energy by not being picky about matching glassware to the beer of the moment.

it's such a small difference to me that it doesn't matter, but I'm also not saying i never pour a beer in a glass.

one of my favorites (and difficlt to find) is the Thistle glass. Per HyVee website: A thistle glass is a modified tulip glass—it's slightly longer with a more pronounced bulb shape at the bottom—that's designed for Scotch ales. (Fun fact: Thistle is the national flower of Scotland.). So I guess it fits in the tulip category...

The few fancy glasses I own are mostly for fancy beer. If I spent 2 figures on a single beer I kind of want to milk the consumption experience. A fancy glass accomplishes that (I think my fanciest glass is a $10 tulip).

Otherwise I pour my beer into the same Mason jars I drink most things out of, or the 12 oz cantillion branded shaker that a friend gifted me. I've really come to appreciate that pouring a beer out reduces the trapped carbonation you drink and makes me feel less bloated when I drink the volume that I typically drink (a lot).

That said. I drink a lot of beer out of the bottle or can and they're delicious. The only style that I find I need to decant are farmhouse/mixed ferm and spontaneous styles. They just don't seem to go down right from the bottle.

You found what you needed then. The only definitive things are the contradictions. I’m only half kidding.

The Old Rapsutin glasses and Speedway glassses i have are my favorite ones that I own. It mostly has little to do with the shape and more the symbolism of the beer though.

Im anti wine glasses. When I got into craft beer it was all about tulips and snifters for the fancier beers and all of a sudden in the past 5 or more years it switched to wine glasses. Have no idea how or why that happened.

I have numerous glasses of several types and sizes, but use two Simon Pearce glasses 99% of the time; their 16oz stout glass and their 20oz tulip. I use the stout glass for 12oz beers and the tulip for everything else. I have spares because I killed one of the tulips once, and they're out of production. I'll occasionally use my Packers glass during a game, or use a brewery-specific glass. Before the Simon Pearce glasses, my go-to glass was a Jester King Snörkel snulip glass. I'm not a believer of proper-style glasses.
