Clear, golden body; dense, lively carbonation; thin yet lasting white head. Light malt grain and herbal quality in the smell. Wonderfully balanced and complex flavor; light grain and bread crust baseline; mild, rounded bitterness; delicate herbal offshoot. Light to medium body; crisp; mild residual sugar feel; soft.

Despite a somewhat mundane appearance, everything else is top-notch. The flavor is exquisite, warm and grainy with a nicely balanced bitterness.

I do have a correction: in my post #79 of the thread, @Roy_Hobbs sent me the beer from Tree House. Sorry for the mistake.

    Good evening NBW
Busy day today, so I'm taking a moment and enjoying a beer I hoped would meet expectations

    Jackie O's Big Snail

Described as an imperial stout brewed with honey and aged 15 months in bourbon barrels

12.7oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau stout glass at fridge temp 13.2% ABV. The beer pours dense very dark brown with light light penetration and meager medium brown colored head. The head recedes to a thin ring and tiny island. The aroma is moderate in strength featuring bourbon soaked fudge brownie with multiple presentations of chocolate from milk to dark. The taste is semisweet honey, bourbon, oak barrel, caramel, chocolate delight. Mild bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium plus bodied with just less that average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Alcohol is incredibly reclusive for the 13.2%. Just a bit of warmth in the finish. Overall, outstanding imperial stout.

I'll be back in north west Ohio this weekend for some family visits and will be hitting up my favorite spot hoping to score some more Jackie O's goodness. I've never been let down by them. Cheers all!

Rich, moderately golden colored body; lackluster carbonation yet a thick, dense and rocky head, semi-creamy and fluffy white. Classic pine resin aroma. Wonderfully balanced flavor; rich, earthy sweetness; pine resin and herbal flavors; well-balanced and robust hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body; velvety with a soft bite; lightly sticky residual sugars coat the palate; gentle alcohol warmth; gentle alcohol warmth.

This is a wonderful old school India pale. The depth and complexity ooze out of the beer, delivering a very tasty and memorable beer experience.

Roughtail Brewing Co. Mothman's Monocle DDH DIPA, 8.25% ABV; 4.3 the beer run winner so far from Friday!

Pours a super-hazed straw color, straight juice ( looks like pineapple juice ) with one finger of eggshell colored head. stellar lacing & above average head retention

S: Guava, Passion Fruit, Pineapple, dankness shows up once this is warm

T: Nectarine, Green Melon, papaya, lime & a little dryness upfront. Green melon, passion fruit, a touch of dankness & pineapple as this warms up, plus a little orange juice& dryness. Finishes juicy with pineapple, nectarine & green melon, plus a little lime & a little dryness

MF: Medium, fairly firm carbonation; good balance

A very solid offering from these guys, as expected, great drinkability, plenty juicy

Brewers Notes: Part of the Side Hustle Series

Brewed with Beer City Bread's Mackinaw Island Fudge cakes thrown directly into the mash, this beer is a perfect sipper for the winter blues.

Can received in big 16 from @Whyteboar in bif16, poured into a pretentious beer glass

Dark cola brown liquid , two finger brown foam cap, recedes to a ring, scant lacings

Aroma is chocolate fudge, roasted malts

Taste is sweet chocolate fudge, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, chocolate lingers on the tongue

    Low carbonation mouthfeel

    Good beer

Yeah! Very nice. That seems like a reasonably large kestrel, too.

Also, it's funny, that first hike shot reminds me of conversations I've had with my wife about differences in the forests out east vs here (she's from CT/NC originally). East coast forests have that stark bare beauty of the tree trunks and nothing in between, whereas out here EVERYTHING grows, so everything has a niche, like the jungle. So between the trees is just a giant fight for lower level supremacy between ocean spray and salal and blackberries and goldenrod and ferns and there's no open space whatsoever. She didn't understand when I told her about how we'd need a machete to try and hack trails through the woods behind my parents place!!

With the Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe hops bill, I am NOT surprised that I am enjoying my very first Weekend Vibes. Nice juicy aromatic tropical fruit and citrus and I am not noticing any grapefruit notes which is fine by me.
