    Wow, really feel for you. We're looking at some pretty big med expenses for our little 13-year-old terrier, too.

    When I was younger, I didn't understand people who would shell out many Ks for their dogs, but right now I can't come up with a figure that would be too much.

    Godspeed to Lulu!

    This makes me sad on many levels. I had a couple of German shepherds while growing up, and this particular malady was not a problem. My family's dogs were more conventional in having hip dysplasia issues (one late in life, one while still a pup, yet both lived to 13), though my dad did manage to get one of them hit by a car, although the dog in question lived another nine yrs.

    Wow. Sorry to hear about the challenges @Dimidiata & @BigIronH are dealing with.

    And reading Mike’s @ovaltine point, I understand the hesitation that you have launching this glorious chaos. I have had quite a few curve balls, sliders, and even a serious brushback’s recently. And my participation has been paltry on NBW. Having said this, if it does go forward, I will participate. But completely support any decision Maddie here.

    Sending you all good wishes.

    d'oh so I obviously never responded despite my intention to do so some time ago.
    Unfortunately I am not going to be able to join in this go around. I may lurk in the thread from time to time (s/o to @Mipper), but not as a real live participant (that is assuming ti goes forward with enough real live non-pinocchio participants).
    Best of luck to everyone's porches and livers!!

    I'm flattered with the invitation my dudes, I have two trades in the works currently and will sit this one out, but will try to be part of the next!

    After reading through this whole thread, If this one end up happening, I'll follow so I can get the gist of it and hit the ground running for no.18

    But...but...this means you're making all of these kind people who attempted to lure you into this trap...failures.

    Could you really be so cruel? Think of poor @FBarber and @WunderLlama. Think of their self images.

    Yep. With a couple more sign ups, but one drop out, I think we're still too thin ... but we've got a week to go.

    I don't want to skip the round, but I don't want to force it either.

    @John_M @vurt @sharpski
    Not only are numbers needed in this round but an Oregon participant or three could be a game changer.

    Yeah, we'd best get some more warm bodies signed up - these beer I've been humping around Deutschland are getting heavy and I may be forced to drink them myself!
