Didn’t know anything about Clouburst, and it ended up being my second favorite stop the one time I was in Seattle (Holy Mountains took the crown). It was a nice surprise. I’m just hoping Pizza Port brings their grapefruit IPA again, that was glorious.

You are paying the $200 for the 4 DLs. If that isn’t worth it to you, as enjoyable as the fest is, you’ll probably feel ripped off.

I've been to Dark Lord Day five years, 2015 through 2019, and in my opinion it has been more worth it for price over time. This year getting 3 variants + 1 regular Dark Lord, along with a fun, day-long festival with a lot of quality taps and good beer shares is worth it. If you like the music genre at DLD, that's another bonus.

I don't think the festival is quite a shit show recently as it was in the earlier days, but it's better organized and more efficient with lines. I look forward to it every year.

We recently got 3F in our area and their beer is quite simply phenomenal. But as good as I’m sure Dark Lord is, I don’t think I could bring myself to pay 50 bucks per beer

I don't think you understand what Dark Lord Day is.

I’ve heard conflicting things, I was replying to the fellow who said “you’re essentially paying 200 bucks for the 4 DLS.” If the festival is kick ass then that figure becomes a lot more palatable

One thing to consider is it's probably a fair amount above $200 if you're going to hit the taps and/or eat. I would recommend both but you can get thoroughly tanked just bottle sharing.

I've done it several times at a similar cost when it was just one BA variant, but I'm not sure my liver can handle it anymore.

The people watching alone is worth the price of admission...

What they mean is that the price of admission to the festival is essentially the price of the 4 bottles. Nothing inside is free except the music, plus the biggest bottle share on planet Earth (and no one has stated that is changing, so we all presume that will continue to be a part of the fest).

The taps are usually pretty nice to phenomenal, (if not a little too heavy a pour), and the shares can be epic depending on your luck or friend group. Just consider lodging, transportation, draft and food costs. The closer to the fest, the pricier the hotel will be, and I'm not really sure the ability to walk back is worth the extra $200+/night bill. Cabs are usually pretty cheap, sometimes accepting regular DL bottles as alternative payment.

There is also the risk you are standing out in the rain all day…and don’t get me started on the tornados…
