Probably about time I introduced myself. Mid-40s guy from and living in SE Massachusetts. A bit introverted but not anti-social. My career is in land survey and remote sensing. Besides my wife and son, I also happen to have the greatest dog to ever fetch a ball. I'm a big fan of Islay and good Irish whiskey. Having had the incredible beers of Germany and Czech in person, I am an avid fan of the more traditional beer styles as well as most other styles, particularly Barley Wines and anything smoked. Besides camping trips in the states, I also try to get to Europe at least once a year. So far I have been to Ireland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Spain, France, Germany (including the last pre-Covid Oktoberfest), Czech, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Slovenia, and Croatia (also technically Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina). I'm not shy about taking extra luggage to lug extra beer home and am happy to trade even if it means bringing it overseas. I just took delivery of a new Bronco and have started to get into offroading. I'm shit at remembering names and terrible at long-term communication. Probably more than I needed to say, but hello.
Thanks for the introduction, and your picture of your dog! Your job sounds well suited to you and interesting as does your beer journey.
Nice intro! I'm jealous of the amount of international traveling that you've done. I had a trip planned two years ago for London, Paris, Munich, Venice, Florence and Rome, but Covid put the kibosh on that. Maybe I will try again for this fall.
I'm with you on the traditional beer styles. It's great to experience the originals in other countries. I always enloy American breweries that do a good job of re-creating some of those.
Nice to meet you! Love the dog pic! I like to camp as well and believe our next weekend trip will be early in April where my buddy will most assuredly be bringing his new Bronco. I'm sure I'll see you a bit later for some more March Beer Madness.
Welcome @Qu3st ! I enjoyed reading your biography and also enjoyed your posts and pictures in the Tournament thread. Hope to run into you in the boards more often, including hearing about your European travel! Cheers!
Nice meeting you! It was fun playing with you in the beer tournament, and I look forward to seeing more of your beer posts - Cheers!
