Left about 6 tonight. Went to Gustazo in Cambridge for dinner

 

Some relevance here: curious if Notch views this as a marketing ploy…perhaps Chris will invest & (properly) demonstrate the vertical technique vs. others profiting off of another “infinitely instagrammable” post

I mean, it’s sort of simple mechanics and would assume a valve and handle can work any which way.

As much as I love Notch and the pour. It’s still just foam and beer. This is often blown out of proportion.

 

Is it worth demonstrating a flaw or proper technique of different taps if you already have the taps you wanted? Especially if those taps are costly...

I mean, I'm sure the Instagram bro culture will fetishize this as well.

 

“What does your tap do?”

“It pours foam and beer”

“oh really….”

“So does ours, but the handle moves a different fucking way”

“But ours pours real foam and beer”

 

Shame that the hummus place is gone, but they could use some pizza in there so I’m perfectly fine with this

 

I am not in any way a fan of hot poked beer. That’s a one and done.

But the doppelbock is legend status good

 

Also, for anyone who went today.

We ordered 2 beers and 2 steins.

We caught the bill and it was $62. Which was fucking absurd. So we questioned it and the guy working bar argued it as no, the steins are $20 a purchase. Which means he was charging other people before us a $20 a stein(NOT including pour) he had to get a manager to change the transaction. We had to show him the post that it was $10. It was weird we had to push the fact. Not very impressed about that and also concerned many others were being charged $20 a strong before us. Notch should look into this.

 

French Disko cans available in Brighton, but not on tap yet. Lovely soft mouthfeel and pils malt flavor.

I'm surprised the Rauchtanzer collab cans are also still available. Tenner cans still available which is less surprising to me given comments I've seen about it not selling. More for me I guess!

I’m glad Emily spoke up and investigated what she saw. Once they caught it they were quite kind to help. We felt bad for anyone there who maybe didn’t catch it. But, it’s not our event or business and just enjoyed our time with friends we met and didn’t bring it up while there. Figured a BA post might get the help for others. Nice to see a brewery speak up and “fix, the glitch” right away. Anyone on that reference

I hope our catch ended the issue at that point. My photo timestamps right after the transaction align to 1pm.

Notch never disappoints. Still processing my thoughts on poked loggerhead…

 

All three beers were fantastic, and imo the poking enhances the experience of all. Helles Bock was the standout for me, unbelievable beer.

 

I think @Jbrews was going for Office Space...
