Central Waters Brewing and Hinterland Brewery Collaboration Pale Ale. A triple pale ale, created by Wisconsin's finest brewery, and the brewery that is located a Jordan Love screen pass from Lambeau Field. It tastes OK, so it is ideal for shotgunning before a Green Bay Packers game.

Recovery beverage - G ZERO - probably (?) all I can do today, have another run tomorrow and I'm trying to pay more attention to sleep (with no sleep aides), recovery, and not feeling like s**t the next day.

Last night? Was... 3 pints and a (bad idea) Boulevardier to cap things off, so yeah, a little fuzzy this morning. But good to hang out with friends for a while, one of whom is moving to Portland, sadly (for us, good for him). My damn college just doesn't do enough for spouses. Upside? I now have one of my best friends going to Portland!

Otherwise feelin' ok - hope you're all having a great Saturday.

After a day of housework im roaming the house with a (double) pale ale

 

Ouch!

 

It's a cold and windy day here, so going to settle in for a long day of sports watching. Noon Whistle Gummylicious Hazy IPA seems like a nice way to start.

 

A good afternoon: beer and basketball.

 

New Trail Replenish IPA (post race beer)

 

1) Fair State Eleven Degrees (4.4%): A Czech Dark Lager from Minnesota with Kazbek hops for flavors of bread, dark grains, spicy floral notes.
versus
2) Modist Pretty Metal (4.5%): A Euro Dark Lager from Minnesota aged in oak barrels for flavors of dark chocolate malt, dark grains and earthy oak. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Winner:
2) Modist Pretty Metal: A Minnesota "nice" battle of their darkest lagers. Fair State has a wonderful Czech dark lager here with authentic bready flavors and then a strong Kazbek hop presence to give it a spicy and floral note. Modist has been making some unique oak-aged lagers which have been great. A Pilsner, A Vienna, and this one. Fair State's is authentic, could be a little darker. Ultimately, I really like Modist's idea of oak-aging their lagers. To Answer the Czech Dark Lager Forum post, yes these seem to becoming more popular. They are great light and low ABV choices for the colder and darker months. Hopefully these beers help continue to set the trend.

 

Keeping the St Patty's vibe rolling today with a Cerveza Atletica to start followed by a Guinness draught. Probably back to my regularly scheduled drinking tomorrow.
