In the famous words of Gomer Pyle: "Surprise surprise surprise!". I had to take a detour from my typical lager consumption and join you with the last Creature Comforts Dundee DIPA I had left in the fridge. Cheers bro!

Participating in March Beer Madness with a beer I've never had before, I can sense a triple cross post coming...

Schneider Weisse Aventinus Weizen-Doppelbock Tap 6

    Wow that was a mouthful.

And @tekstr1der the strange thing about our local friendly bot is, he's been around since 2013 I think, and used to or still is a trader and is a member of the respect beer society... I wonder if someone got their account hacked and a hacker is screwing with us.

Or he just went full rich alcoholic hermit with OCD who must still post to WBAYDN

    1) Andech Weissbier Dunkel (5.0%): A German Dunkelweizen with flavors of fig, raisin, dark fruit, caramel, and overripe banana. Bready, soft, smooth, and creamy.
    versus
    2) Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel (5.3%): A German Dunkelweizen with flavors of banana bread, bubblegum, orange citrus and spice. Yeasty and bready. (Correctly matched the two blind)

    Winner:
    2) Andech Weissbier Dunkel:
Two great German Dunkelweizens. Weihenstephaner ranked #1 and Andechs #4 on BeerAdvocate. Andech interestingly pours and tastes darker. Shows more of the dark fruit, fig, raisin, and caramel flavors. Also a softer and smoother body. Weihenstephaner pours lighter with more banana bread and orange citrus spices. Incredibly flavorful and complex. I think I enjoy the flavors of Weihenstephaner better, but leans a bit lighter toward a hefeweizen. Andech seems more to style and better showcases the true dark flavors of a dunkelweizen.

Widowmaker Keefmaster West Coast IPA (Columbus, Citra, Simcoe cryo). My first beer by Widowmaker and I know they make some good hops. My thoughts are over on NBW, but I will say this is a solid WCIPA.

That right there might be the most under appreciated world class beers readily available today. I keep some specifically to open on Christmas Eve every year. But it's well received amy time of year.

An interesting collaboration and blending effort. Mixing a barrel-aged tripel with a pilsner, Crown & Hops and Allagash created a winning hybrid beer delight.

You'd never know it today in N. GA. It's 44°F for a high today. WTH. Mother Mature is screwing with our heads down here this week.

I'm with you though. Picked up a 4 pack of these this weekend. Terrific Maibock.
