I've always wondered what a Pokel glass was too!

Like so many of you I have collected a lot of beer glasses over the years. There IS something about drinking certain styles out of a certain type of glass that enhances the enjoyment. Here are the glasses I use most often and can pretty much cover every style.

Left to right: Snifter, Becker (my favorite), Pilsner, Tulip, and Weizen.

I use the Becker the most because I drink a lot of lagers, it holds a 16 oz pour with proper head, it's easy to drink from and clean and it's versatile across a lot of styles. I also have a couple Belgian goblets but I find the snifter and tulip to more than sufficient for Belgians. I also have a set of stemless wine glasses I like to use for blind taste testing, but that's probably a whole other thread.

I didn't even know there was a "Pokal glass". I knew the name from the soccer competition.

I prefer a Willi Becher for almost everything. I like the way it feels in my hands.

I’ll use a tulip for big stouts and a chalice for Barleywines and quads. Also a gueze glass for gueze and other lambic. Otherwise, Becher, Becher, Becher…

That eyeball at the bottom of the pilsner glass is creeping me out

Lol! That does look like an eyeball. I would have never noticed that if you hadn't pointed it out.

I’m in the tulip camp. I bought a case of my favorite from web restaurant store so if I break one no big deal, and if I have friends over there’s matching glassware for everyone.

Apparently you did because how many times has Founders Breakfast Stout been posted in that particular drinking vessel? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Anyone have a recommendation for good glassware that would fit into a standard cup holder? My snifters/tulip don’t fit into the holders in my new couch and would love something that fits in there.

Why not shaker pints? But if you want something fancy, how about stemless wine glasses? Just google it.
