This one is kinda tough. Since I live in SC, but am just across the border from NC I will offer a selection from each.

    SC - Westbrook Mexican Cake
NC - This is a toss up between Olde Hickory Event Horizon and Old Mecklenburg Mecktoberfest

In Wisconsin you sip Central Waters Brewing Black Gold. You shotgun New Glarus Brewing Spotted Cow. Or you can combine them for a moomosa.

Moneybags over here ready to let his friends chug bottles of Mexican Cake. Wash that down with some Blanton's Gold while we're at it?:grin:

Just saw this one as well. Are you two accepting friend applications?

I'd like to see how this turns out. Curious to see if folks argue for the classic beer, the gamechanger, the most popular... Start it up?!

I’ve thought about it a few times today but precisely for the reason you said; I haven’t yet. It may be a fun exercise though.

The last time I had friends in from out town I shared a few bottles of East End Brewing - Gratitude Barleywine. I also gifted them a mixed case from the Penn Brewery.

If I had friends coming into town this weekend, I would probably grab something from The Brew Gentlemen depending on what style of beers they like.

Human Robot 13, it’s a great beer and I think it’s approachable enough that even non craft drinkers will enjoy it. If it’s not available I would grab another lager from them. I could suggest others but HR is just the road from me.

Edit…..the smoked lager is also a great beer.

    Enjoy

It's a hard decision for me. Overall I'd go with Jackie O's Bourbon Barrel Black Maple, but for IPA's I'll pick Columbus Brewing's Creeper. But even then there's still a lot of worthy brews from Ohio that I would recommend.

I love this beer, I just can’t pay the $15 a pack for old beer. Once had it semi fresh and loved it. Tried it old and it was not great.

    Enjoy

Smooth and 10% abv I like it better than goose Island bourbon

Okay, I know, I know, this is cheating. SOS is my vote, after all as many of you know, it's my "house beer" and the cans I drink are brewed in CT (at Two Roads).
If you really want to complain then pretend I said Beer'd Brewing's Dogs and Boats.

It's a tough call as a Californian. I immediately think of Anchor Steam, SN Pale Ale and RR Pliny the Elder. I would choose Pliny for the wow factor.

I had dinner at a Texas Rodehouse (I think) outside St.Louis a few years back. Asked the waitress what local beer they had. She said: Micheloeb. Good answer, I replied, chagrined. Ordered an Amber Bock. On draft. Always one of my favorites.
    Thank God she didn't Bud.

Great idea! Would make a great spring and summer project. Who/how to wrangle that?

A lot of people would offer up something from Tired Hands or Forrest and Main. But the one Pa. beer I consistently urge folks on to is Fegley's Hopsolutely. Hands down the best triple IPA. And it is consistent. Year after year, unwaveringly good.

As a "leaner", border state: Cartons Regular Coffee. In a class by itself.

Spot on with Wooly Pig, Thirsty Dog and Fathead. Prefer Key Lime from Artifact and ENess from GL. Need to get to Wolfs Ridge and Hoof Hearted. Jackie Os Who Cooks for You is anther tasty choice.

Most of what I share with friends is homebrew, so breaking out the big guns every now and then isn't too bad...
