Would like to do a side-by-side with Parabola. 2022 definitely has a lot of barrel char notes that Parabola always has to me

Having a Blue Jacket Imperial Stout with lactose and cocoa nibs. Feared it would be too sweet, but the brewing team did a nice job with the use of medium to heavy roasted malts, light touch of the nibs and lactose, and adequate hopping to keep this nicely balanced.
    Cheers!

Olde Salem Brewing (Salem, VA)- Thriller (Blueberry Bourbon Barrel). 11% abv. The blueberry is pretty subdued, but nice bourbon and dark chocolate flavor.

Goose Island Bourbon County Biscotti imperial stout - enjoyed after a fine game of Wednesday night hockey! Strong licorice but this would make a great breakfast beer!

Enjoying an Olde Hickory stout aged in Port barrels. Bottled in 2021, i suspect the 11.1 abv has mellowed in the nearly two years since bottling given the first warming sips. Very port forward and not a lot of nuances going on, just a touch of dark chocolate to pair with the dark fruit dominance. This was a pleasure to sip on but nothing special - 3.87.
    Cheers!

[IMG] I bought a six pack of this earlier this week at Wegmans for $12.99. I really like it! It reminds me of Victory’s, “Storm King”!

Boulevard Proper Pour BA Imperial Stout, 12.6% ABV. A very complex stout. Took a chance on getting a pack, glad I did. I rated it 4.52. I went to the store to look for Dogdish Head Utopias BA 120-minute IPA, which I didn't find yet, but happened across this. Damn good. It says you should drink it with your pinky out. I didn't.

I gotta say - this one is pretty good for what it is! Double Stack. The flavors don't come across as artificial. The coffee adds a nice touch.

Just got two more cans in my Tavour box that arrived. Only had it once before and it was easily one of my favorite stouts ever. Definitely top 3 for non-barrel aged

Enjoying another Olde Hickory BA stout today, this one in whiskey barrels and aged on maple crystals. Bottled towards the end of 2021, the flavors have pulled together nicely with light alcohol heat with the first sample. Fairly easy sipper, rated 4.2.

Enjoying an Espresso Yeti with round 2. Nothing complicated about this brew, the espresso wonderfully compliments the base beer. Yeti on its own is the best bargain in the imperial stout world and enhancing the base beer with espresso makes it even better. Wish Great Divide brewed this year-round! Rated 4.35.
    Cheers!

Covert Artisan Fort Mounds Imperial Stout, 12% ABV. Taste is an indecent amount of chocolate and vanilla, quite sweet, slightly bitter. Given the name, I had expected coconut, and my mind tricked me into tasting that at first, but the additional flavor was from wood-chip aging. I rated this 4.65. I'd like to see them rum-barrel age it.

Had to do it. Anyone watching Night Agent on netflix?

Edit: I just saw on the can that is says “Natural flavors and caramel colors”. When the hell did that happen?? I don’t remember that on the old style label last time I had this. Disappointing to be honest
