What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3815

Asahi - Clear (Happoshu)

Enjoying the amazing views of Nagasaki Bay, while drinking some macro Happoshu.

I visited the Atomic Bomb Museum, and what a moving experience it was. I have been to the Hiroshima one too and I would recommend them both to anyone. We must not forget.

Look: Golden hue, clear (duh!), and with a quite huge frothy head, which doesn't last very long however.

Nose: Very neutral. No signs of corn, rice or whatever adjunct was used in lieu of barley.

Taste: Quite balanced, with an upfront sweetness, followed by a hint of bitterness, and then again a sweet finish.

Mouthfeel: Thicker than one would expect. Moderate carbonation.

Overall: I know happoshus are not meant to be amazing but they do their job just fine, especially on a hot day after many hours of walking.

Grabbed a tall boy of the same Asahi Clear and I'm enjoying it in the night breeze.


Nagasaki looks great at night. Lots of cool lights, bridges, buildings, and natural features. The landscape is spectacular.

 

Not a bad way to start a rainy Saturday. Cheers all.

Pretty decent strong ale for breakfast - sweet, plummy, high ABV - excellent start to a Saturday!

Hey BA!

Drinking Rittmayer 1422. They usually brew very good beers but this is pretty weak. Nice hoppy aromas but that's it. Watery taste, very thin mouthfeel and a very short, strawy finish. Hints of bubblegum are detectable at the very end.
