Haven't been on in a long time. Been enjoying some Irish beer. Where does everyone get Irish red style beer?
Welcome back @cheripko4 ! I think of one beer when I think of this style, 3 Floyd’s Brian Boru. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26/16520/ It’s perhaps a bit more hoppy and bitter than the typical Irish Red Ale, but keeps the sweetness enjoyable, but not cloying. Hope you have access to this seasonal release in Ohio. My review: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/new-beer-weekend-35.656484/page-3#post-7212151 What are your favorite Ohio beers an breweries? I’m bummed we don’t get Fat Heads here. Slainte!
Welcome back to BA! Being from Ohio you probably know about this one but I recently tried Great Lakes Conway's Irish Ale and really like it. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/73/5096/ It's a seasonal release so availability may be an issue. So grab some if you see it. Cheers!
I can't think of any Irish reds that aren't seasonal, but I certainly don't know very many of them anyway. Check out this list to see if any are available where you live. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/styles/161/
I pick me up Smithwicks at my local supermarket when I want an Irish Red Ale. Otherwise, Great Lakes Conway's Irish Red Ale and Boulevard Irish Ale are two good representations of the style.
Welcome back! Post your passion, Irish reds, in the WBAYDN thread and I’m sure you will have a great response - Cheers!
Welcome from a fellow Buckeye and south Columbus hillbilly! Elevator Brewing in Columbus. Bleeding Buckeye Red Ale.
