Stopping by Appalachian Vitner since there's no classes today. Enjoying a keg of 2018 Billionaire, a rum BA English Barleywine. Suffice to say, it's right up my alley

Enjoying the strongest beer in the world. Strength in Numbers by Brewdog. Sits at 57.8% ABV. I thought it might be a bit like whiskey but it isn’t. Super thick syrupy body and tons of flavor. Cheers!

Back home safely and out front in the 90 degree feels like 90 heat with a Jai Alai... ..

 

1) Toppling Goliath Electric Dino Boogie (7.8% canned 2/27/22): A NEIPA from Iowa/TX collab with Pinthouse Brewing with Simcoe, Citra, and Galaxy for flavors of juicy orange, cantaloupe and peach, tropical fruit with a touch of pine and dank herbal notes.

2) The Veil Merciless Merciless (8.0% canned 2/13/23): A DDH NEIPA from Virginia with Citra, Galaxy, Simcoe, and Vic Secret for flavors of ripe orange, creamy pineapple with some mango. Orange sweetness. Creamy oat malt body.

Winner:
2) The Veil Merciless Merciless: While I've complained about the naming of the beer before this is quite an excellent NEIPA. The Electric Dino Boogie is trendy and pretty darn good as well. Similar to King Sue but with just a bit more Simcoe addition for cantaloupe and peach flavors. Really good, but for Toppling Goliath pretty average. Merciless has rich orange and melon flavors with a strong and creamy oat malt body. It evolves into an Orange Skittles sweetness that is wonderful and unique. Both of these are fantastic.

 

Bourbon County brand 2022, excellent brew

 

First time trying Southern Grist
This one is sweet and roasty, but mostly sweet.

Neighbor has returned finally from a lengthy 7 week vacation. Good to have my burn buddy back. I brought a couple treats over to share.

Last weeks beer tournament caused me to revisit some brews I haven't had in awhile, enjoyed the 3F's Zombie dust I purchased, this one, not so much, felt the same way about the Double Two Hearted. Sometimes you just can't beat the original.....

 

We have Honda here building HondaJets and Toyota building a huge new electric battery plant. We see and interact with Japanese nationals almost daily. They are great people and a wonderful addition to our community.

Agreed, glad I tried it, but I can’t imagine a situation where I would pick it over Zombie Dust.
