So pregnancy months. Many an --argument-- debate with the wife about what time means, ha!

    And mine!

The Expanse is great. I also read the books first (also from the library!), greatly enjoyed them, then watched the show with my wife. It's not perfect re: fidelity to the books, but it does a damn fine job of it, and where they stray makes sense and works.

Hint: I'm not shipping beer same-state.
Now a doorstep delivery is not technically shipping...

Honestly, as weird of a combo as it is (and don't ask me why that is affiliated with Seattle), it really is very tasty. Especially sausage-cart style to eat while waiting in line to get into a game.

While this is generally true, this time I can't blame it on work... I actually started my three months of state sponsored paternity leave last week! Which lead to the real reason I was 10-15 pages behind and had to catch up: we were visiting family throughout the SW (including my only living grandparent meeting her first great-grandchild! Juni now has the potential to be the pivot point for a full seven generations which is kind of neat.)

I had a lot of catching up to do!!

I'm sufficiently Luddite to not really know what a discord is. Hey, I sew discord, I don't use them!

Shit! I actually forgot about hitting Logan Tavern for a Seattle-style dog til @kemoarps mentioned them!
This will happen tomorrow, I swear it upon the lives of my children (who, rather conveniently, do not exist).

Also, do not underestimate the ability of @kemoarps to destroy your porch in person. He deposited a heavy blow to my building's foundations last fresh hop season, one that was fortunately not intercepted by the ubiquitous hobos that practically surround Schloss woemad. I almost turned down participation in this BIF to turn my local brewery's guns upon him. Perhaps it was pity for his innocent family that stayed my hand.

Pics of me actively not having kids? Not sure the Bros had that sort of thing in mind when they launched Beer Advocate.

LOL - no the hot dog part ... although maybe that doesn't clarify anything?

I know this means little to this BIF, but today, April 7 is national beer day. Cheers!

Funny how I just beermailed you in response to your requests, that I was always wanting to try Holy MOuntain. You must have shipped BEFORE that message....

Onto my review of this beer:
Sampling a 16 oz can poured at cellar temp into my snifter. No date stamp on the can.
The beer pours a cola brown color with little to no light passing through. A fairly dense fluffy tan head foams up 3.5 cm and almost tops the glass.
Aroma is roasted malt almost to the point of charred notes and smoke. There is a little bit of a dark chocolate note too, but roast carries the day. No hint of hops here.
First sip reveals a medium to light body and fine tingly carbonation. Smooth texture and this beer drinks very easy.
Flavor is roasted malt and a little burnt coffee bite, but this smooths out and has hints of dark chocolate that linger after the swallow. No hops here either.
Pretty nice drinkable version of the style. Very glad to have tried something from a brewery that I have been interested in trying for a while. Id drink this again.

Oh, you poor thing. It is actually the highest compliment we can give. To be Ninja'd is to be accepted. Perhaps you'll get into the spirit if you run a BIF or ninja some one yourself.

ahhh. I think my message is misunderstood. lowest level in terms of that only more exciting and more extensive fun chaos will be coming through this BIF (and others) .
not lowest level as taken as a swipe or put down. Trust, that I am enjoying this fun quite a bit.

2nd beer of the night from the ninja bombing from @snaotheus Thank you! Glad to be a part of this fun event!

This is Foreland Beer Circle of Illumination Pilsner. 5.3% and out of Oregon.

onto my review (note the yellow chair in the background):

Sampling a 16 oz can poured into a .5L dimple mug at cellar temp. The can is date stamped 12/27/2022.
The beer pours a bright clear golden color with a bleached white, frothy head of 1.5 cm. This foam fades to nearly nothing about halfway through the sampling!
Aroma is some crackery malt and a bit of white grape fruitiness that I often get in pilsners. There is a bit of spicy hop note here too. Not boozy, as expected for the lower ABV.
First sip reveals a light body with very fine and gentle carbonation. Texture is very smooth and this beer goes down way to easy.
Flavor is some cracker malt and again white grape, but here it is much sweeter on my palate than I expected from the nose. Beer dries out on the finish and I get spicy hop flavor lingering after each swallow.
This is a decent pils, although I do find it to be on the sweeter side. Enjoyable.
