Sailors Grave - Drowned Man IPA

This is an Australian session IPA that I picked without realizing what it was, or from where. I simply pointed at it in the fridge behind the bar and it was given to me by the bar woman. Can't tell when it was canned, but it tasted reasonably fresh. Cheers.

29 F/-2 C here right now - the frost is on the bumpkins and the street-sleeping fathers are in shock. Dead dishwasher (only the third in 45 years) so it looks like some shopping later today. Excellent brew for New Breakfast Beer today - after yesterday's disappointing and very atypical for the brewer POS I owed myself a good one!



Damn good! The habaneros are just hot enough without being obnoxious and are highlighted by the bourbon and barrel. Even the vanilla is noticeable! Cinnamon rolls in on the aftertaste. And it's got a bonus lizard on the label! Wish I'd bought a case rather than just a couple of bottles! Rating 4.3, rDev -4%

Canned 11/2/22. Poured at 52°. A cool 70° morning with strong gusts out of the NE, the feels like is a very pleasant 64°. I may go for a walk before the day heats up. Cheers and have a mighty Monday y’all!

Bells Expedition Stout (9/30/20)



I pulled my last six pack from the cellar last month. Full treatment in the cellar review thread. My take for here is this held up well in proper cellar conditions the past 2 1/2 years, but prefer this over the first 12 months. Hope we get these in the future.

The Veil is coming the The Green Lady tomorrow @vabeerguy ,all but one selections offered tomorrow in the hazy or imperial IPA realm. Not sure if this is a one time deal or if they will start dropping in our market. Any Veil favorites you recommend Mike? Have other plans tomorrow, but may stop by Wednesday if anything remains on tap.

It is great to hear Veil brews will be available there! What is interesting is that Veil does not distribute, to my knowledge, in Virginia other than at their breweries.

Veil has released close to 1,000 brews (many retired) and I have had close to 200 of them. There are dozens I would recommend but they may not be available at the moment since very few are released on a regular basis. Usually they tweak many and rename them. My favorite Veil style though is their double IPAs.

 

Thank you Sir, much obliged. It's likely a one time drop. Didn't know The Veil is women owned, though it makes sense. The Green Lady is as well.

I will focus on their DIPA, greengreenferrariferrari and their Coalesce Czech Style Pils, and perhaps a sippy cup Hazy NWIPA if I have the good fortune of making it down there tomorrow or Wednesday.
