Agreed. I take stouts out of the fridge a hour before I plan on opening it and usually drink over a few hours depending on bottle size.

 

I agree for most occasions but some of the SP stouts, IMO, are a little too barrel forward at room temp. I like them “slightly” chilled.

Absolutely agree - exceptions exist, which is why tasting through the temp range is great.

 

Time to resurrect the thread: I hope if there’s a SP/Angry Chair collab releasing at SP at some point that it’s better than Approbation

 

Tell us what you thought was wrong with it.

 

Mouthfeel was more thin than normal AC stouts and WAYYYYY more thin than normal SP stouts. All I got as far as adjuncts on draft was coffee.

Do you see thinner mouthfeel as a clear negative? Sometimes I really like a less viscous stout that still has a lot of heat/barrel. Had a can of DBVSOD a few weeks ago that was definitely thin by Side Project standards but it was amazing

 

Approbation wasn’t BA.

It’s just a thin non remarkable coffee stout. If it tasted good I could overlook the mouthfeel.
